I have always been and still am for the electoral college system because it gives small states a greater voice in who wins the election for the Presidency. Sometimes I do wish the vote for Vice-President was a seperate ballot. In the case of this year, I wish the two on the Republican ticket had reversed positions. I have noticed one trend I really do not care for. With the advanced statistical projections which are usually accurate, Presidential candidates tend to ignore states that are set in stone which kind of takes away from the purpose of the Electoral College. For example, it is a waste of money and time for either Romney or Obama to campaign in states like Kentucky or California, because neither state is going to change their status.
