No, just drop them where you want the hole to appear.... and let the seeds do the work...

    No mess, no fuss...

Just sit back and watch the results....

Post-hole seeds... the one thing all end-time survival kits need...

Imagine all the graves that will have to be dug....
Now, all you have to do is spread the seeds over the place you want to bury someone... and wait overnight...

Round here we use arminians for fence posts. They are pretty rigid. After they stiffen a little... make perfectly good posts. Make sure they are stiff... otherwise they complain a lot!

No no no! You get the post HOLE overnight! Then you have to plant the post bulbs in them for the posts to grow. Problem is, they grow best in the spring and here it is fall...

(My husband is talking to a friend in Australia as I sit here and I'm afraid my howling about planting the chickens really disturbed their phone call!)

npet -- HOW can you fail with chickens????

I can fail at anything. I have more practice than just about anyone.

OH... My.. I forgot about the Post bulbs.... Now make sure you don't get the TULIP post bulbs.... Of course they will work, but you have to plant them on Election day... No other day of the year will work...

Why? Iran has not violated the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. I will be so glad when Bush and Cheney and their warmongering neo-con buddies are out of power - provided they haven't blown up the world before they leave Washington.

I am very disappointed with Bush, but I really don't know what to think about how he's handled the terror thing. I have trouble being objective about it because my ex went nuts when my kids were 4 and 7, abandoned me and our kids and ran off and married a Palestinian terrorist in Germany. My kids found out some of the details and they still struggle with it all and probably will for many years.

Then add to that the fact that I know we never hear about TONS of what goes on. I had a business trip to Norway. On the flight back, some mid-eastern guy was sitting in my seat on the plane. He moved to another seat, and I took my seat. When we arrived in the USA, some agents came on board with Geiger counters and they counters went nuts on my seat and on the mid-eastern guys (there were 2 of them). They escorted them out. It doesn't take a genius to know these guys had direct access to nuclear materials. So what was prevented here? And you never heard about this in the news, did you? And how many things get prevented that we never know about?

In the long run, as Christians, we know our lives are in Christ's hands. We know the world is nuts. That is just to be expected now. There are no worldly solutions. People will try and we will vote as best we can and behave as best we can, but it can only get worse

....until the Lord comes. In the meantime, we are His and really can and do have HIS peace and joy. Let people see that.

This reminded me of a quote that is probably pretty important to the idea of this thread:

"I think the biggest problem in the world is that we have a generation of young people, and maybe two, who don't think it's going to get any better."

Iran has been trying to get their hands on a nuclear weapon for 20 years. Seriously, since 1987. It's no big secret whatsoever. We are the only reason why they don't already have one. There was an entire 1 hour special about this on the History Channel just last night, you should have watched it. They almost got one from China, almost got one from Russia, almost got one from South Africa... we keep coming up with creative ways to block them off. However, it's gotten to the point now that they have enough of their own knowledge that they are well on their way to making their own.

Apparently our biggest mistake was to let a scientist act as a spy and give them nuclear plans that were slightly erroneous, thinking that they would try to create a bomb out of these plans, which would produce a dud. The scientist got nervous thinking he was going to get caught since the errors were so obvious, and he wrote a note explaining why they are erroneous when he dropped them off, then he disappeared.

Unfortunately, those plans were 99% correct, and it actually helped them get started. So yes, their entire nuclear capability right this moment is based off of nuclear weapon plans.

    Nope.

I think that God is sovereign and if I spend all my time worrying about hard times, I'll waste it. But that does not mean I dismiss warnings. I just do not see any.

You'll need to construct a Varment proof "Hen House"---99% of the varments will "visit" at night---particularily because they're semi-nocturnal----Hawks will "spy" on your chickens in the daytime--and time to time will round one unsuspecting Chicken up for Breakfast or Lunch---I built one---when I finished it I thought---the smartest owl or coon in the county can't bust in to this thing!!!---the chickens really appreciated me more for doin' that for them!!!

Feed?? Free range is just that----let um out of the hen house to "range" around your yard---they'll eat just about anything that don't eat them first----when they're in the hen house---crushed or cracked corn from the Co-Op will be fine

When you mow your grass in the spring-summer-fall-----rake up the loose clippings and throw them in the hen house---they'll scratch around and peck around and cluck---silliest thing you'll ever want to see

Build them some "layin'" boxes---we had some made from scrap lumber----12" x 12"x 6" will be fine---you'll want to feed them "Laying" pellets---bought at the Co-Op also----this encourages them to lay eggs

Get ready to lose a bunch of um---mostly to varments--owls, hawks, coons, possums, skunks, snakes---but thats just all part of it

Mostly raising um is 99% trial and error---you learn as you go --- get you some and have fun---watch um---they're the silliest bird God created!!!

Thanks a million! Helen sent me a lot of information but this helps, too! I'm looking forward to getting some chickens in the spring.
