I grew up with the KJV and used it exclusively until my early 20s. Nowadays I use the ESV, NASB, and NIV mostly, although I consult other versions, including the KJV. I hope to learn NT Greek someday, when I have the free time.

I am KJVO because I have always believed that it was inspired by God. That is the only reason I need.

I voted KJVO because it wouldn't let me see the results of the poll until I voted.

I do use the KJV exclusively as my Bible. As I stated in another forum, it is a 1964 Thompson Chain Reference. Do not know if it is 1611, 1769 or 3002, but it probably mentions it in there somewhere. I purchased a KJV Study Bible (do not recall the publisher), but when we stood for the reading of the scripture one Sunday morning, there was a word difference between what the Pastor read and what was in the Study Bible. I went back to my Thompson.

Why do I use the KJV exclusively? Because I like it better than all of the other versions that I have attempted to use. No other reason.

Out of those great awakenings came Mormonism and JW's too. Where was the follow up?

Please note that most users of the polls
software do not know how to make it so
that you can look without voting. But when
they are called on it, they have "reasons" why
    they didn't

    Playing the odds,
it is NOT mentioned therin which kind of
KJV that it is. Seems the KJV copy makers
do not want you to know there are varaiations,
    deceiving then by hiding information.
Would you really want to buy a book
that is supposed to be God's inerrant
holy written word from folk like that?

The KJV is the only version translated from the Textus Receptus. The others are from Catholic bibles and are not reliable.

So you don't think because the KJV folks did not have a complete set of manusripts that they did not use the Vulgate?

The KJV is not the first
english Bible to be translated from
the Textus Receptus. The KJV is not the last
english Bible to be translated from
the Textus Receptus. What makes the KJV
better than the others? What are the others?

All I know is that it seems to have the way to heaven written in it, thus my salvation decision. It seems to have pretty good instructions on how Jesus would want me to live, so I try very hard to do so. If I study it, it seems that the Holy Spirit leads me to a fairly good interpretation that I can apply to everyday life (i.e., family, work, etc.). I may be playing the odds, but it seems to have worked in my life. Is there more that I should be looking for in a Bible?

the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
writen in the language spoken in the
USofA in the 21st Century (2001-2100).

None of the poll options really apply to me. I use the KJV and the NIV pretty much equally, as I use a KJV/NIV Parallel Bible. Our pastor preaches out of the KJV, so I spend a lot of time there in church. But in my personal study, I use the NIV more and reference the KJV when something confuses me.

I do NOT understand the KJVO mindset, but maybe that's just because I was a French major in college. There is no French KJV.

Neither do the French, German, and Swedish, etc.

I wonder how many people out of 6+ billion actually use the KJV. I would bet they are in the minority compared to the rest of the population of the world.

A friend of mine taught in Germany and he told me that they have the same problem in Germany about the Luther Bible too.

    I do.

The JW's NWT, the Book of Mormon, etc.

I can agree that the NWT is one of the many mv's that people claim is a Bible, because it was written to be a better version than the KJB.
The JW's can't back up thier position with the KJB and that's why they had to change it. Same goes for a lot of other so called "christian" groups

The Book of Mormon is irrelevent. The mormons have the Bible, they just don't believe it. The Book of Mormon is for the mormon "church" it is not widely accepted as the word of God.

Well, the JWs were founded using the KJV, but yes, they sought to produce their own version that more easily supported their doctrines.

I agree. However, you asked for examples of Satan's attacks on the word of God, and that is one of them, regardless of scope.

Very true. One wonders why the KJV didn't keep them in line if it's such a wonderful, or perfect, translation to use. Obviously perfection does not derive from its use as opposed to other competent translations.

Didn't you read your Bible in Genesis about Adam and Eve? I thought KJVO's were supposed to use their Bible. So busy trying to defend a arbitrary point that you have not read your Bible? It might help from time to time.
