I prefer to use the KJV but am not opposed to using my NASB also. I am comfortable with the KJV, the version I grew up in the Lord with and from whose pages I came to understand God's nature, character, and mighty works. And since this is a poll and not a debate, I honor that by trying to be obedient to the brother's statement in the beginning and just answering the question with a brief "why" statement. Jehovah Shalom.

    Grew up using only KJV.

When I went away to (Christian)college they used NIV so I switched.

After working in a Christian Book Store I also started using the NKJV.

Ah hah ha ha, [IMG] :D  [IMG] I sure hope this represents a good sense of humor, sarcasm, tongue-in-cheek, irony or some other writing technique! Because thats the way I'm reading it.

Was formerly a KJVO., but was delievered froom that false doctrine after years of thorough study of scripture. Now I use the KJV, NIV, and NKJV.

I will return to KJVOism if someone can provide scriptural support for it.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

It's translated from the best manuscripts and is the Word of God. I believe that it's the best English translation but other languages' versions from the proper manuscripts are OK too for them. I think KJV is easier and more melodic to memorize anyway.

I have a KJV that I grew up with, a NKJV, NIV and NASB. I love them all. I like being able to see how something might be translated differently then search out what the real intent is.

Of course I use the KJV. After researching it, and finding out the portions removed and changed in the other versions, mostly due to the corrupt Wescott-Hort text, there is no question that the KJV is the only version made by men who were right with God. Since the editors of the 'other' versions are mostly dead, one must rely on reputation as to who to listen to, and who to believe, about their work in writing versions. No question that the modern version writers were about compromise. Read about it. When one goes on feelings, they lose.
