If they weren't "celebrities", nobody would give them a listen of any kind.

They just need to shut up and play.

As for the NBA, they have a huge number of athletes that did not finish their education and most of those couldn't pass and 8th grade aptitude test.

They're making it off their god given talent. They just need to enjoy the benefits that provides and shut up and play.

Agreed. But they have a platform. And people do listen.

OK, we understand. NBA players, about 80% who are black, just need to "shut up and play." Got it.

People do not turn on the game to watch the personal politics of the players.

Why do they have to shut up and play though? For crying out loud this isn't North Korea. People have opinions, even celebrities. It's up to you on how much weight you want to give their opinion.

Well they did actually play the game right?

If you don't think personal politics matter then you apparently didn't take notice of the Tebow phenomona.

My feelings exactly as I go to pro eve nts to see my team play. Not protest a social issue important to them not their fans. I think I'd ask for a refund and walk out.
    .
    Would you do the same?

A game being played is the perfect time and place. Some things are bigger than the team AND the league.

In fact, I wish that all of the black and white players who are incensed about these murders would refuse to play. Then it needs to carry over to the college football and basketball teams.

Folks wouldn't know what to do.

If Rush and Sean weren't celebrities, no one would listen. Y'all don't seem to have a problem not foaming at the mouth and going into heat whenever those Duck Dynasty folks say anything.

They need to make more noise because white privilege thinks it's more important that a game be played than to stop the senseless killing of unarmed black men.

There's that cryptic racial prejudice again. Whether or not they finished their education or couldn't pass an 8th grade aptitude test hasn't stopped white America from screaming for them every Saturday and Sunday and whenever else the NBA plays.

If yall can riot and scream and burn stuff up over a stupid game, then athletes can certainly make some noise about the senseless killings of unarmed black men by the police.

White privilege is forever trying to keep anyone who doesn't agree with it under thumb.

    It's not your team.

Good. Hopefully they'll all walk out on the teams and join "the movement".

Y'all aren't doing anything but repeating the same old lines that were voiced in the 50s and 60s.

But it's not gonna work this time. the world has seen.

If they knew that so many of their fans voiced the type of racial prejudice against them that some on here do, they'd walk out before the "fans" got the chance.

So you would have no problem with team members coming out holding police badges - to show their support of the police?

You have missed the point. It isn't whether or not people agree with the statement or not. It's that it is in no way a big deal that they use their status as an athlete to make a statement on a prominent social issue.

Nope. The people in the stands get to respond to that too.

So round 'em up and see how many are willing to come out in support of the police.

And frankly, I must say, this is why the GOP won't be winning another Presidential election any time soon.

People notice all too often how those on the right take the stance of some in here about anything with which they disagree. And what, it once again, reinforces is that a large chunk of the right doesn't care about anyone or anything but that which fits its mold.

Glad the players know what's important.

Are you saying many of them are so ignorant and uneducated because they are black? If so, shame on you.

I never figured you for a racist.

Nah. I'd just laugh at 'em. Might not buy the next ticket, though.

I have nothing to cover up. You simply tried to project onto me what you thought and felt.

So maybe you'd like to share with us why you feel it has to be the blacks in the NBA who are ignorant and uneducated.

Attempting to tell me what I thought and felt was kind of a lame attempt as well.

He's playing that lil game where folks won't come out and say what they are saying in their head but everyone knows what they are trying to say.
