They tell me I'm related to Stonewall Jackson. [IMG]

Also, Loretta Lynn (Webb) and Billy Ray Cyrus. (All Cyrus/Sirus are related.) [IMG]

What famous person or people are you related to? ;)

Maternal great grandmother was Lady Nan Kinsman from the border region of Wales. She surrendered her title and ran off with a dissenter (Methodist) who became a circuit rider in Iowa. But when his old regiment was called up to fight (Boer War 1899) he went and died in the Transvaal. THAT is famous in our family.

Oh, my grandfather's name on dad's side was Jesse James Griffin. And he named HIS son Robert E. Lee Griffin. And dad named me Robert E. Lee Grffin, Jr. Does that count?

Mother <i>claimed<i> we were related to Esther
Williams, Mother's side, but I have my doubts.
Besides, she was only a movie actress.

I have seen proof that two of the last slaves held
by the Mississippi State governor's mansion were
my ancestors on Father's side -- does that count?

Er...eleventh cousin to Prince Charles and eight or something to the late 'Blessed' Diana, Princess of Wails and Queen of Tarts or whatdver. Not something we like to talk about in our family, given the characters of the two individuals concerned. Wrong side of the blanket of course - that would probably account for a lot of my behaviuor on these boards!

Yours in Christ

Without going all the way back to Noah and Adam, no, I don't think so.

I'm a distant cousin of Hub Perdue, who was a pitcher for the Boston Braves in the early 1900s. I'm in all likelihood a direct descendant of Capt Thomas Williford. He was one of leaders of Bacon's Rebellion. My great grandmother was a Williford, and according to all of the Williford family researchers I've contacted, all American Willifords are descendants of Capt Thomas

I'm in line to the British throne. I'm number 3550 or something like that. So if members of the Royal Family start dropping, I had absolutely nothing to do with it!!!!

And who'da thought King Ralph was a true story about me???

Have been told I was related to Daniel Boone through my mothers family. When my little sister heard about that, she went right to school the next day and told all her classmates she was kin to Fess Parker!

LOL, King Henry VIII (wrong side of the sheets) on my mother's side and Benjamin Rush, who signed the Declaration of Independance and opened the first hospital in the Colonies on my father's side.

...with any number of thieves, ax murderers or whatever in between!

Several years ago someone wrote a book of my fathers ancestors and traced the family as far back as possible. So I'm number 4??? (four thousand and something). Not sure which king it was who liked the ladies.

Michael Botwinick-World Champion Chess Player from Russia.

Issac Stern- World Famous Jewish Violinist was the brother of my great grandma Anna Stern Botwinick. Would that make him my great great uncle?

Those are the two I know.

Thanks Roy. I think I do see the resemblance come to think of it, but quite a bit younger on my part... [IMG] [IMG]
