    Ruiz,

"showing grace" (how you seem to define it) and disregarding the laws of the land are incompatible.

We don't have to be hateful or violent.

But ignoring the laws is not what God would have us do.

True grace would mean ruiz would stand in their place and give someone his citizenship and he would go to Mexico and work to get in legally. Godly Grace always recognizes the law and works with it rather than side stepping it.

Who determines if a law is immoral and/or unjust?

For example is it justice to have parking spots designated only for handicap individuals

Definition of justice # 1 = being fair

So who determines it is fair for someone to get a close parking spot. The "justification" is that it is hard for them to walk - okay - then if you are using an electric wheelchair - then should that individual have priority over a cripple without a wheel chair?
How bout a 9 month pregnant women with 3 additional young children- why shouldn't she be allowed to park in a handicap parking spot.

And then there is the fine. In New York, the fine for parking in a handicap spot is about $100. Is that justice - especially when parking in front of a fire hydrant is only half the amount?

    So who determines justice

Salty, interesting comment. I'll start a new thread to continue this as it bring up a philosophical topic not, IMHO, called for in the OP.

    Understand- so the connection is:

Where is the justice to treat an illegal alien-
    A. the alien himself who receives free care to treat a medical condition - on the basis of humanity
    B. the citizen who must pay extra taxes to provide that "free" medical care?

So who determines where justice should fall.

Ruiz has been saying that we have an obligation to help those in need. Is he suggesting we simply open up our borders so 100,000 Mexicans can converge upon Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Tx?
Suppose VBMC can only handle 50 patients at a time - who is going to determine which patient will be seen first? Is it justice to make a person with a broken arm to wait until a person with a broken nose is treated.

Here is the bottom line - Ruis says we should help those less fortunate- and I agree - but lets do it this way - we supply medical missionaries with plenty of supplies who will than go to Mexico to give needed medical assistance. - Wait that solution is too simple.
