It's pretty sad, to me, to see some of the so-called "Christian" movies that Hollywood has come out with to target this so-called market share.

It is the movie Evan Almighty a sort of follow up to Bruce Almighty. However, this time God does not give his power to a man. God requests that Evan build an ark like Noah. That is all I know.

From what I saw, it looks to be blasphemous.
Evan Almighty? Last time I checked, there was only ONE that can claim the title Almighty!

I've seen the previews on TV. Just the previews offended me. I have no idea why some people are taking this to be a "Christian" film. It's a follow-up to Bruce Almighty.

Apparently, the premise of the movie is that God called a modern-day man to repeat the whole Noah's ark story.

In the previews, the guy is waiting for the rain to come and a woman asks him, "What if God were just asking you to build an ark inside your heart and He wasn't being so literal."

The guy sitting on the ark with all of the animals waiting for the rain looks at her and says, "Then I'm going to be pretty pi**ed off!!"

    RE: ArkAlmighty

ArkAlmighty is a resource for churches to meet the needs of their congregration. A person in the congregation posts a need anonymously, the only people who see the need is people who agree to meet the need and the church administrator. People can also post a skill that they have to meet needs in the church.

Is there really a need for a secular website to do this? Our church doesn't need their website (we maintain one of our own but not with this basis) -- there are numerous ways within our congregation to match needs/volunteers.

And, I become even more skeptical about the background of the website and it's connection to a movie I view a not only secular but non-biblical. Am I alone in this skepticism?

Don't get offended by the ads, they are randomly generated through key words, and they help pay for this site. Simply ignore them. Or be amused by them.

somethings should not be on a christian site, and taking money for it is even worse.

If it were specifically targeted, it would be easy to do something about it, but it's randomly generated using keywords.

Much like my web site, hopeofglory.net, because it contains the word "glory" in the title, it is targeted as a porn web site by random keyword searches.
