Jim if it was not for your wisdom

Jim if it was not for your wisdom , I would have been gone a long time ago and just dusted off my shoes, LeBuik I think had a post once and asked how bad it would get, well it got to be a real stench, hopefully people will do some soul searching. LeBuick , man thanks for your perserverance you were savaged from all sides in what seemed to be orchestrated attacks, my hats off to you and go in blessing in Jesus name.

The whole world was filled with hope and possibility from our next President of the United States of American , Barack Obama.

As were you and the rest of the crew. My hats off to all that endured the stormy road to this historic moment in American history. Being a Barack supporter on this board was like being a sheep invited to dinner at a wolves den. Didn't know if we were invited to eat or be eaten. But hey, I think we all grew and most of all we got a chance to open up all the candidates positions to see the empty promises they all made.

I'm really going to pray for Barack as he tries to unite this country. We are tattered and torn but we are still American's. Deep inside, American's are really a decent people with an abiding since of fairness and integrity. We've been here before and we've always found a way to rise above our individual limitations by uniting as brothers and sisters determined that this union will move forward and succeed.

I think Jim's and Timsings post really sums up what this elections means and how we can move from here to get on the road to where we need to be.

The liberal mind never ceases to amaze me. I never thought I would say "Welcome to the Socialists State of America." We kill babies and don't even think twice about it, take from the hard working and give it to those who don't, believe that only the government has the right to bear arms, love the fairness doctrine to squelch the free speech of those who oppose us, create special groups of victims and develop hate crime laws to protect them, perpetuate the problem of global warming not to stop it but as a means to stop the evil of capitalism, negotiate with terrorists, believe that the opinion of the world is more important that the sovereignty of the United States, allow illegal immigrants and felons the right to vote, hate anything to do with the military and work hard to squash a service member's right to vote, have always sought defeat for the U.S. in Iraq to the disgrace of all who have given their lives there,... God help us

With that said I don't think we would have been much better off with McCain at the helm. :tear:

All the states that McCain has won are not former KKK states.A number of them are way out west. And Alaska too.

Obama has Florida and Virgina and Delaware. He may also pick up Georgia and Noth Carolina.Obama is doing well in former KKK states.

BTW,did you know that Republicans were the ones responsible for passing the various Civil Rights bills since 1933?Republicans have a better Civil Rights record.Of the 26 major C.R. bills the Dems were against in over 80% of the votes. The Republicans favored CR in 96% of the votes cast.

Have you heard of the Southern Manifesto? In that piece 99 Dems voted for depriving CR.Only 2 Republicans were on their side.

Familiarize yourself with the 1957 and 1964 Civil Rights Acts.More Republicans than Democrats were on board.

Dems historically have supported Jim Crow laws;not the majority of Republicans.Ever since the days of the Radical Reublicans during Reconstruction the latter have been at the forefront of the CR movement.

On the good CR side are men such as Lincoln,Grant,Eisenhower and Dirksen (I have had a special fondness for him since the 60's --- men of his caliber don't come around too often.)

On the bad side of Civil Rights were promiment Dems such as Al Gore Sr.,Bill Fulbright and Robert Byrd.

Amen Jim. I am constantly amazed at the ignorance and extememism displayed on this board at times. Perhaps ignorance and extremeism go hand in hand .... something to ponder.

Hasn't this horrible form or abortion (all forms are horrible actually) before the election? If so, it seems there are plenty of people to blame, not just President Obama.

The president really can do nothing about this issue. He/She can appoint Supreme Court Justices and then it is up to the Court. However, regardless of who sits on the Supreme Court it is extremely unlikely that Roe v. Wade will be overturned.

This issue is for some as the Russian saying goes, "It is like a rat stuck in a dog's throat and he can't vomit it out."

I grew up in the South, the Bible Belt and a KKK state. It may be called the Bible Blet, but it was dead wrong and not following scripture on the treatment of people not "like us," when I was a kid. Over the course of history my state and region were dead wrong on a number of social issues ... and used the Bible extensively to defend those wrong positions.

There is currently a ban on partial birth abortion, so it has not been going on before the election. Obama does not believe in human life, he has voted against it time and time again.

wrong. The president can lift the ban on partial birth abortion. And he will, as he said.

And when that happens then all that voted for him will be just as guilty as the Dr. that sticks the scissors into the babies head!

It is not ignorant or extreme to stand for life. And when someone is proud they are a socialist shows what Obama supporters (although not in this country) are really like.

    I am proud I am a capitalist!

There is one reason, and one reason only, that Obama won this election. It was the inept leadership of George Bush and his incompetent administration. The American people are beyond angry, they were seeing red at this present government, so much so they did not give a second thought about who they were voting for.

Maybe the Republicans will learn next time that conservative means conservative.

How can you be a Christian capitalist? Isn't that almost as contradictory as being a Christian communist? I doubt Jesus was a capitalist.

I am very angry this morning, LeBuick. I'm furious that people who claim the name of Christ would vote in a leader that blatantly represents PURE EVIL. The murder of innocent babies and homosexuality are an abomination to God. Our country cannot and will not survive if we allow this sin to continue.

I'm well aware that there are many kinds of sin. However, we have a clear picture of what God did to Sodom and Gamorrah. Do you Democrats not understand that you are betraying your fellow believers by voting in a man who will soon let the gays shut down our Christian schools and possibly even our churches? I wonder how loyal you will be to our new president after the gays file lawsuits against our churches, accusing them of "hate crimes."

For those of you bringing up the KKK and the southern states, we are not responsible for our great-great-great grandfather's sin to someone else's great-great-great grandfather. What we're responsible for is the sin that's taking place NOW, like abortion and gambling and homosexuality.

And your anger will produce what? Were you comfortable with an adminsitration that for eight years did nothing about abortion, but used the issue to pander for votes?

Yes, Obama may be pure evil. By golly, so are the Republicans. They are both a stench before a Holy God.

This is what makes the election historic and shows the progress we've made as a people. Not that we elected a black man, it is that we can look past a person's race when electing a leader. He was not voted in because of his rce, he was voted in despite of his race.

You would have to show some examples, the civil rights act was put together by JFK and passed by LBJ. I don't see how the republican's get credit for that. I don't know what you imply happened in 1933 but in 1960, a black man couldn't sit at a lunch counter and order a meal. So whatever happened in 1933 wasn't too effective.

I understand your anger and very much respect your right to be angry. I am aware of Sodom and Gomorrah but caution that Jesus died for the sins of the world. If what you cite were the only sins, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah would have rid the world of evil. We both know that didn't happen.

The problem is the heart of a man who doesn't believe in abortion, gambling or g@y lifestyles has sins they equally need to have atoned. If we limit the atonement effort to only those groups of people you mention, a lot of mankind will die still in their sins and will be made to believe they are righteous if they are not in the aforementioned categories.

That is a dangerous Gospel to spread and is contrary to the Cross where my Saviour died.

Can you believe there was some good in Hitler? No man to include Satan is pure evil and it is wrong to assign that label to any man. We are all made in Gods image. Evey man including you is both spiritual and carnal. We are all a mixture of good and evil. This is what causes the war that goes on in our members and is the reason we have Hope that all men will receive the gift of the Gospel, repent and be saved.

You'll have to show proof Obama will allow Christian schools Churches to be shut down. I think you are letting the spirit of fear win out over the peace and security we have in knowing God is still in control.
