I can say that I don't know if it was the right thing or wrong thing to do to go to war in Iraq. The people there are ungrateful and the intelligence information seems (notice I say seems) to have been faulty in large part. I know thousands of our troops have died and been physically and psychologically damaged because of the war in Iraq. But at the end of the day and at the end of the year and the end of the Bush administration, I can truthfully say that I am grateful we have not had any more terrorist attacks on our mainland US soil. So perhaps the Bush strategy was the correct one, the lesser one of two evils - we took the fight to them instead of fighting them on the homeland. That may not be how it is in the future, but up to now, it seems to me like he was wise to take the battle to them over there in their muslim lands and the strategy kept us safe at home.

I thank all of our American and coalition forces who willingly gave up their lives and sacrificed all to follow orders and be deployed to a foreign land, whether in Afghanistan or Iraq or stationed in Germany, or on a ship in the Persian Gulf, wherever their duty has called them. I am grateful - for President Bush, for our troops, for our freedoms we still have in America, for being allowed to worship, for our liberties, for all of our blessings, and most of all for the Hand of Protection from Almighty God at the close of 2008.

Until Jesus Comes, I remain Grateful,
    LadyEagle

Well said Lady Eagle! I believe that President Bush has kept our country safe since 9/11; though many seem to have forgotten, both the event and what has transpired since. I am amazed and extremely proud of the young men and women who continue to volunteer and place themselves in harms way for this country. Sadly some cannot seem to recognize their sacrifice, or the sacrifice of those who place them in harms way.

A bit off topic, but I have been watching the History series "Dog Fights", and have a renewed appreciation of the sacrifice those guys & gals before us made.

It really steams me to see the left denigrate our armed forces when their sacrifices are the only thing that makes it possible for the ingrates to spew their venom unaccosted.

Had we lost in either of the WWII theaters, we could very well have been speaking either Japanese or German now, and the un-grateful ones would either be a part of the oppressive regime, or already shot to suppress their "GOVERNMENT" opposition.

It's hard to see our freedoms used to destroy these same freedoms; but thats what one of the tryrants termed "useful idiots", and America seems to be well endowed with them.:tear:

This may also be off topic, if so, I'm sorry:
Although I believe GWB's decisions to go to war on terrorism were absolutely correct, the modern day liberals, to whom wars must be lost, because we are too powerful, have severely undermined his efforts, and have harmed this nations efforts severely.

I truly appreciate your statement above LE..

I appreciate the comments in this thread.

I pray that at the end of 2009 (if the Lord taries) we can still say we are safe on the homeland. I pray America as a nation will repent. I pray God will raise up righteous and Godly leaders who fear Him. Above all, I pray that the Holy Spirit will send a Spiritual Renewal and Revival here and all over the world in 2009.

Brothers and Sisters, let us go forth with boldness proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world, our families, our friends, our neighbors, and the strangers we meet and lift up and glorify the Name of Jesus Christ. I pray God's blessings on each and every member of the BB, that we may come together in unity and seek His Face in all we do and say here, that the world will know we are Christians by our love.
