To the conservatives on the BB. Do you agree with Tom Delay still receiving a chauffeur driven automobile at taxpayer's expense, just like he did before he re-signed his position as majority leader in the House January the seventh?

I don't believe that anyone in the House or Senate, regardless of political affiliation, should be furnished a limo and driver at taxpayer expense.

What does being a conservative or liberal have to do with the answer?

I don't know that it's a big deal. Who gets a chauffeur and who does not? Was that a perk of his majority position? I would have guessed that was part of his office expense. I would expect him to get the same benefits that any other congressman gets but no more.

Do you have information that he gets a limo and other congressmen don't and we the taxpayers have to pay for it? Is it anything like secret service protection for ex presidents? We pay for that after they leave office and I don't have a problem with it.

Tom DeLay retains perks of Majority Leader post
I'm basing my question up on the above headline that found at RAW STORY. But the question had to do with conservative is the Tom Delay is one of America's leading conservatives.

All due respect to true public servants, but I think the Founding Fathers and original statesmen were a little more concerned with liberty and freedom than riding in style.

Tom Delay is a leading republican, not a leading conservative. There are very few conservative politicians on the national scene. You have some moderately liberal politicians such as Delay, Bush, and a few others, and some liberal whackos such as Cynthia McKinney, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi and others.
