I've never read Morecraft or Belcher, but I'll go with the rest of that list. Just add Jerry Bridges, Iain Murray & Martyn Lloyd-Jones.

    Oswald Chambers for devotionals.

Robert B. Thieme, particularly in his teachings in Biblical history, God's integrity, grace orientation, and the victorious proclamation of Christ.

I have some real problems with R.B.Thieme, Aki. Would love to visit more about it. I will start a topic for discussion - don't think it is personal about you, but will allow others to share insights on Thieme's teaching/ministry.

    Dr. Griffin,
Do you know of an inter-net site where books by G. Camplell Morgan are available on line.? I do enjoy reading and studying after him and also
A.W. Pink. I have found a site for Pink but not for Morgan. Any help would be welcome.

Yes, he led a "christian" cult in China.</font>[/QUOTE]No kidding! I've had a book of his for years, but never got around to reading more than just the first couple of pages. Must have been a reason! [IMG]

    BTW, check your PMs. [IMG]

I think it is going too far to call Watchman Nee a "cult leader."

    Go to Church,
I have several of his books and, while I do not agree with everything Nee says, I would have difficulity labeling him as you do.

I admit, however, that I do not know much about his personal life; only some of what he has written.

I like a lot of the ones posted so far. I probably have over 2,000 volumes at my house, various subjects, but mostly Christian stuff. Used book sales are my downfall. ;)

I am not so sure about putting Aurelius Augustine or Irenaeus on a list of most trusted authors, although they make for some interesting reading.

I have a book that does not list the author, published by Leadership Ministries Worldwide in Chattanooga, TN, USA; it is the best book I have ever seen regarding practical pastoral ministry!! It is one of the few books that I would say that every minister should have.
If anyone is teaching or training anyone for ministry, get them this book and use it as a training tool. Go through it with him in a class or on a one-to-one basis. [IMG]

I like your picks, Dr. Bob! [IMG] My favorite author is John MacArthur, hands down. His book "The Gospel According To Jesus" was (and is) the most eye-opening, tell-it-like-it-is book I've ever read.
