Baptist Board Profiles

I am posting this as a reminder to some and a notice to others. As most of you are aware, the Baptist Board provides three different categories of public forums for our members:

1) Baptist Only

2) Baptist and all other Christians

3) Free for all

The reason for this posting is to inform our membership that the category for religion in each profile is a required field. If one lists "Christian" we will assume that they are non-denominational and are excluded from the "Baptist only" areas of the board. If one list "none" we will assume that they are non-Christian and they are limited to the "free for all" forums.

The moderators use the profile as a tool for confirming a member's affiliation. This is far simpler than directly communicating with every member who posts in our forums.

If you do not have a religion listed in your profile yet, please click the link in the upper right corner of any page that says "my profile" and then click the header that says "» View/Update Profile « " and fill in the religion field.

It may be a glitch resulting from the latest upgrade. Don had a similar problem. I will make sure that attention is called to it.

Everything "looks" okay on your profile from this end, Don. I just sent an e-mail to you. Let me know if you receive it. Your membership is so old now that something may have happened to it in previous upgrades, just a guess. It does not appear that I have the capacity to alter e-mail addresses.

However, I believe that you do. I'm a little hesitant to suggest it. I will notify the webmaster of this problem with your account.

If you wish to alter your profile again, let me know what changes you want by PM and I will implement them for you as Dr. Cassidy did before.

I don't believe we would allow any satanist on board, but yes, the other groups that you mentioned are represented there. Those forums are heavily moderated for indecent language, links and behavior. I think if this board tends to err in its moderating, it is toward the heavy end.

The same guidelines I outlined in the initial post on this thread are also found in our "posting rules." The whole point of this thread is to have people specify in their profiles with which affilliation they are. If you wish to check on someone, you simply click the little index card icon at the top of their post.

I'm bumping this topic up as there seems to be a few non-Baptist Christians posting in the Baptist only areas. Upon registering, every memeber agreed to the rules of this board. The very first of these rules reads as follows:

We understand that there was much reading material upon registering here but this site was designed for the Baptist community. The webmaster has provided other forums for non-Baptist believers but the Baptist sections are still set aside for the exclusive use of Baptist members.

If a non-Baptist member disagrees with the direction of a thread in the Baptist only area they are certainly free to start a similar topic in the other religions or free for all forums.
