I've been attending this week the annual meeting of the Baptist History and Heritage Society. This is an organization which emerged as an independent body after the Southern Baptist Convention reorganized and discontinued the old Historical Commission. We've had papers on the contributions of Joseph M. Dawson and James Dunn to religious liberty, on Billy Graham as "Pastor to America", and on various other public figures who were Baptists (including members of Congress and Presidents).

What a wealth of resources this Society produces, and what wonderful resources are available from other centers of Baptist study! I think particularly of Mercer University and the University of Richmond.

Participants in this forum on BaptistBoard may want to go to www.baptisthistory.org, which in turn offers links to these and other sources for Baptist history study.
