David Cloud of Way of Life Literature, who gives fundamentalist Baptist info, had written an article called: A CHALLENGE TO EVERY INDEPENDENT BAPTIST
THE PATH FROM INDEPENDENT BAPTIST TO THE SHACK, ROME, AND BEYOND, He mentions not knowing of any Independent Baptist preachers who believe in the non-judgmental Shack god/goddess or salvation apart from faith in Christ or Christian homosexuality or the downgrade of hell or the partial inspiration of Scripture, yet that many evangelicals and Southern Baptists are guilty of these things.

What does this say about the many Baptists who do not believe we have a 100% inspired Holy Bible?

    Jacob77,

How about responding to some of the earlier challenges that have been made to your many spurious charges in the BV/T forum, where this OP belongs anyway?

This has nothing to do with the OP. This is about baptist pastors turning liberal.

As for responding to the charges, it isn't even up for debate. I stand by the KJB and pointed out the problems with the MV. The rest of you can squabble it out.

Now, can you stay on topic and address why there are Baptist pastors who do not believe in the 100% inspiration of the: Holy Scriptures? if you can't that's ok, but please try not to derail the thread.....

Who on here does not believe that the scriptures are not 100% inspired. I don't know a single Baptist pastor who denies that, here or in my own contacts.

Ok, please name just ONE Baptist pastor on the BB that doesn't believe in the 100% inspiration of the Holy Scriptures and we can go from there.

But I will also say this- your refusal to debate the issues you raised in the BV/T forum speaks volumes as to the veracity of your claims. It is not godly character to take potshots at brethren then refuse to substantiate your claims when they are challenged.

In the Bible versions threads, no one could tell us which bible if any is 100% inspired. Everyone was squabbling that no bible on the face of the earth is perfect therefore this means God did not preserve His word .

But this thread isn't just about certain Baptist pastors believing in a partial inspiration of the Holy Scriptures. Its also about certain baptist pastors being guilty of preaching other unscriptual things, some of which I mention in the OP.

The article I partially quoted states that Independent Baptist pastors believe in a 100% inspired Holy Bible, a literal hell and salvation through Christ alone.

The gist of the article is that many are moving towards liberalism.

Are we discussing Baptists in particular or evangelicals in general?

There is no debate. We have a 100% inspired Bible. If you guys believe in a 100% inspired Bible, then which one is it? Can't all be right since they differ from from another. Which Holy Bible? Please tell us.

Anyway, why are you unable to discuss the other issues such as a literal hell and salvation in Christ alone?

The article states that Independent baptist pastors believe in a 100% inspired Bible, a literal hell and salvation in Christ alone, etc. But that many Southern Baptists and evangelicals are guilty of not believing or teaching these things.

Is this a move to liberalism? Or perhaps it has already happened

I don't know personally of any Baptist pastor who does not believe in a literal hell or salvation thru faith in Christ alone. I have friends in both the independent and Southern Baptists. Can you name some current Southern Baptist or Independent Baptist pastor who don't.

I use the NASB. I believe it is fully inspired and inerrant.

I am sure there are some liberal baptists out there, but none that I know of on BB or in my circle of pastor friends.

I don't understand the discussion. Everyone here, and everyone I know in our circles, believes in 100% inspiration, a literal hell, and salvation through Christ alone.

Those who don't not hold to inspiration would have no basis for the other beliefs.

I thought we were not discussing versions at your request? If that is the topic I need to move this thread.

I was responding to what you had said about baptists believing in a 100% inspired Bible. No one seems to want to answer that nor to address the other things in the OP.

Would you like this moved to the versions forum since translations seem to be your priority? If not it is off topic to respond about translations.

You know what? This thread was derailed from the very first post. I brought up other issues such as hell and salvation and nobody wanted to go there. Instead I was told to go back to the Bible Versions thread. . it was brought up that every Baptist believes in a 100& inspired bible. So I responded to that and asked which Bible is it. Instead of answering, I am told the thread needs to be moved. However, you made a statement and I believe I have every right to respond to it. but as usual I get no direct answers, only dodging.

I do not want to talk about bible versions on this thread. So please don't make a statement if you will not qualify it with evidence.

When it comes to attacking MV's you threw out some accusations that so far you have failed to back up. And, now you are making similar claims concerning pastors. Name some names. Provide some proof. Don't just take Clould's word for it. Back it up or apologize.

Amen. Neither do I know any who would deny such a thing.

I do however hold to the doctrine of inspiration. God's word if perfect. Others like me who hold the the true doctrine of inspiration know that God's word teaches the truth of a literal hell and salvation through Christ alone so there is no conflict.

I addressed the issue of hell and Christ earlier - despite your accusation that 'no one' has.
