Mr. Kritzer, thank you for posting a reply to that article. Sometimes when things are said like that, I wish I could reply like that. That was a really good reply.

As far as what that person said, I've heard things like that all my life. Just makes me shake my head and ask "will the critisism's ever end?"

Helen, I couldn't help reading the posts about your hair. Are you really a "california blonde"? Your picture looks like you are more of a red head. [IMG]

Hi Charlotte, I'm a strawberry blonde -- but it's actually more copper. This is the reason I have had the nickname of "Penny" since I was about 3. [IMG]

Since three of my adopted children are dark (one Taiwanese and 2 Mexican), it was really easy to excuse my mistakes and say "What do you expect? You have a California blonde for a Mom!"

As for me I will not say this or that regarding the contents of Mr. Allison's criticism of the BB, but I will say he sure had stomach to criticize although himself calls himself "Doctor". I came to think of Christ's prohibition against calling oneself "Rabbi", Matt. 23:7-8. These self-titulated "doctors" (D.D., Th.D. etc.) seem to give no heed to the commandments of the One they claim is their Master, even Christ. And no better are those self-exalters who titulate themselves "Reverend" (Rev. for short). Some go even further in their carnality using the double title "Rev. Dr." this or that or whatever. What do you think Christ would call such self-seekers?

I say we should consider the source. His article is in the same issue that also contains an article from Phil Kidd, and that doesn't exactly lend it credibility.

In my circle of fellowship (I won't speak for others), this is the usage. The honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity is given to those men deemed worthy by a given institution of higher learning. Its value depends on the institution confering the degree. Normally, men use it when they are either not in a pastoral position or when they are away from their own pulpit. If my memory is not playing tricks on me, the degree of Doctor of Theology (ThD) is an earned degree. Again its value depends on the institution of origin.

The use of title Reverend is normally avoided like the plague.

Yep, thats about how I spend my day too, romance novels, chocolates, lounging in the bed watching soaps. And on occasion I burst through the doors of the BB and say dumb things then go find more chocolates.

And obviously, we all know who that dearly-deceived brother was reading when he talked about people with THOUSANDS of posts and not having a life.

I am sorry that he only read MY posts. But then, calvinistic, KJVO bashing, wearing dresses . . .
