Ben Carson went on MSNBC on behalf of the Trump campaign to discuss the Democrats’ push to pass gun control legislation. Carson, attempting to strike a moderate tone, suggested that both sides of the debate are too locked into their beliefs and that true progress cannot be made unless we come together.

“Let’s put on the table: what is the reason for the Second Amendment? And is there a reason that we need to change those things right now? And let’s put the data on the table and let’s talk about like intelligent people, rather than getting in our respective corners and hurling insults at each other,” Carson said.

He's Trump's lackey, whereas Chris Christie carries Trump's shinebox.

I could make a joke about people from Minnesota needing to first wear shoes, but I do not wish to provoke a border war. *laugh*

Besides, the butt of every good Wisconsinite's joke is Illinois. :)

Our founders made the reason for the 2nd amendment quite clear. It hasn't changed.

    Dumb statement by Carson.

Let's face it: if Trump is already compromising on the 2nd Amendment through his supporters, before he's even elected, thus negating one of his positions that he's riding the popular vote with -- what else can we expect him to "deal" after he becomes president?

Just wish I had a viable alternative to offer....

    Therein lies the problem.

Anybody but Hillary. Trump has the best chance to beat her. End of story.

Yeah, we Minnesotans generally pick on Iowans, except when it comes to drinking jokes, then Wisconsin has the crown.

No, it's not the end of the story. Electing Trump would mean you would have a different set of problems with certain issues.

How about that list of nominees for Supreme Court? If Trump gets elected I expect him to compromise and make deals all over the place.

And anybody that thinks a wall is going to get built on the Mexican border is inhaling laughing gas.

Yep. Could be. I'll take that chance.

There is no doubt at all about crooked Hillary.
