I'm seriously looking for a single shot shotgun ....preferably 20 gauge for my wife. I can load it with buck shot & use it as a protective means for the wife....its simple, its easy & if you level it at an intruder, well it only takes one blast to make your point. Unfortunately gun stores don't like selling them.... they want to sell you a trap gun (pump or over & under) at a higher price point.

Did I mention that 3 houses down they been using as a Heroin Den & two blocks over the Feds raided cause they were cooking meth? I dont think the dogs are enough any more.

They almost give them away around here, in fact this one WAS given to me several years ago:

It stays under the mattress in the guest bedroom.

Really? In order to get a library card you have to be 21?

You have to fill out a form 4473 and sign it under penalty of perjury?

In order to get a library card you have to pass an FBI criminal records check via NICS?

Wow! All I had to do was walk into the library and ask for one!

Good for you. I can walk out of any gun shop with a gun and bullets in ten minutes. My library card was sent to me after I filled out all the paper work. I waited two weeks for my library card. So yeah.

Here's a link to our application. Notice you do not have full borrowing privileges until they verify your address. For me this process took two weeks. They do this by mailing you your permanent card, and you bringing it back to them. There are no comparable restrictions or delays in purchasing guns, or ammo., in Missoula, that I am aware of.

    http://www.missoulapubliclibrary.org/library-cards

Moreover, I didn't say "fishing license", or "hunting license", either. That's because it is quite difficult and expensive to hunt and fish around here. There are a lot of laws.

Thirdly, if either one of you don't get the spirit in which I posted that, then the both of you can jump in a lake.

I have jumped in a lot of lakes in my life time. Originating from Florida this is common. I am pleased to do it again. Especially during this hot time of year.

I am not doubting anyone I have just never seen it take more than a few minutes to get a library card. I am sure it is true but it is also excessive.

Criminal background checks are easy to do and only actually take a few minutes as well. No need for a lot of wait time on buying guns.

If you get caught with a gun in your car around here it better be registered. The car, that is. Insured, too.

Which means I can carry a gun around with less restrictions than those which govern me driving my own car. Which means it's easier to own a gun than to drive.

And you should try to register a boat around here. ESPECIALLY if you inherited it, or it came with a property you bought. It is DEFINITELY easier to walk around with a gun than it is to drive a boat on our lakes. Of which I have also jumped in.

Someone was asking about a 20 gauge single shot--they are still available. H&R made one which looks like the weapon shown above which appears to be a 12 gauge--with a riot style barrel. It is kind of limited on the type of wild game available--the targets need to be inside ten paces for effectiveness, especially if they are wearing body armor.

Better choice: Remington 870 with a deerslayer barrel. It shoots a sabot round. Other barrels are available. Body armor is still a problem. Aim for the whites of the eyes. A 22 rim fire round will take care of that scenario.

There is still nothing better than a two edged sword.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Given the effective range of these pistols, the Swiss Army Knife would probably work better. A full sized baseball bat would probably do better--how about a 7-iron?

Go for the gold: get a .357 magnum. It will stop the momentum of the target--may even reverse it. That round can stop a grizzly bear at 25 paces.

Not a good gun for a rookie. Revolvers are cumbersome and slow. I would go ACP.
