Did you read the quote from ABC news. It is not illegal and there for not unethical. Tell me how it violates ethics. It does not matter if you or I can get it done. Our privacy is not under scrutiny like others are. What are the odds a car dealer will bring a dozen cars to your house so you can buy without going to the dealer. Does that make that unethical.

And then, in the interest of having a rational conversation, you can answer Deejay's excellent question. What species are blastocytes ?

I never accused you of anything, or called you names, you are the one who did that. In fact, I didn't call anyone any names. I've been accused of something I didn't do, and only want recognition, or proof that I'm wrong.

    Now Bro Curtis,

Even though we sit on different sides of the fence in some debates, you have always seems to be fairly level headed, and would admit when you're wrong.

However, in this case, it clearly can be presumed that you are wrong, when you state that Fox has gone off his meds several times, before appearances & hearings and such. (Note the several, and the plural words on the end)

Also, taken into account, his book, and I have quoted from it, that Fox stated he did it before the Senate, how can you say that you won't wrong when you stated in the plural and stated he has done it several times?

In review of my postings, you can see I haven't beat Rush up over this, I haven't beat him up over anything. I haven't sided for one side of the other, although truth be known I would side with Fox, as I believe this is a good way to try to find solutions to some of these dieases.

But, in this thread, your post towards to top, I believe was misleading and wrong.

Thank you for stating that so clearly, as it defines my own viewpoint.

As I understand it, embryonic stem cell research is open to any one who wishes to continue it. Currently, however, American government funding has been stopped. This has no effect outside America, and America has no corner on the research. American researchers may continue, they just have to have corporate or private financing -- perhaps the Gates Foundation could be approached.

To assume that without American government funding this research is unavailable is erroneous. If you find my statement to be erroneous, please disprove it with specifics.

Thank you. I feel the same towards you.

It seems that you were criticizing me for saying he had a purpose behind it. I never speculated a reason. As far as "several times", OK, I was taking a caller's words for it. I knew he said it, I shouldn't have said "several times" without being able to back it up.

However, I never accused him of faking his sickness, or playing for sympathy. I criticized him for his unfair statements towards other candidates. I had my words twisted into saying something I never did.

Rush is an arrogant slob. I fix radios for a living, so I listen to him. I also listen to Rhodes, Franklin, Dan Patrick, Mike & Mike, Dr. Laura, whatever comes in at the time. Rush never made fun of Fox. I don't have the ditto-cam, so I don't know of his movements, but he didn't attack Fox, at all, until Fox lied.

See above. I hope we can put aside this foolishment.

BTW, my daughter & I climbed Mt Monadnock, about a week & a half ago. That's still one of my favorite New England hikes.

    Yes, we can. Done.

Yes, it's a nice climb I did it when I first moved up here about 10 years ago. Now, it seems work and life gets in the way of much hiking and getting away..

    Take care!

I mean you no offence but you are wrong. He is the voice of the right if there is one. Some lesser voices would include Hannity, Neil Bortz, Hugh Hewitt, Dennis Prager, Bill Bennett, and many others that are begining to turn the tide on the leftists stranglehold on the control of news.

    pLUH EEZ!

Wait! Wait! I thought the big excuse for Rush all these years after all his
mean spirited and fascists statements was .....drum roll please.......

    HE'S IS JUST AN ENTERTAINER!

so to you he is the voice of the right...you do know he has a long trail of wacko statements plus going to a sex haven in the Caribbean with a bottle filled with Viagra.

There is definite idolatry going on with some on this board concerning...rush, ann coulter, mr. propaganda sean hannity...etc.

reason rush is doing dirty politics is about doing everything to get his dads name on a courthouse in Missouri and he knows if Jim Talent wins he has a better chance...that is the real truth ...so he goes after
    Michael Fox.

Christians need to either call this guy an entertainer(bad one) or call him a fascists who wants the tyranny of the majority ...both ways he represents the spirit of antichrist in mixing half truths and then using that to fear monger.

Well, I've listened to the clips on YouTube now. Limbaugh did start off stating that Fox was exaggerating or acting. After the break, Limbaugh said he'd heard from people that Fox was in fact like that without faking or exaggerating. He went on to say that he "will" apologize, but somehow he never actually does (in the clips - perhaps they end before he gets around to it).

Limbaugh now says he's "heard" that Fox doesn't take his medications for some appearances. He also accuses Fox of exploiting his illness to "shill" for a Democrat.

Fox has Parkinson's and will likely die from it or its complications. I have no reason to doubt his sincerity in believing that stem cell research, including embryonic stem cells, will eventually lead to effective treatments or even a cure. McCaskill supports Missouri's Amendment 2 (linkie) which Talent opposes. Limbaugh sneers that Fox thinks one Democratic senator will make the difference - but that is not what Fox says.

This is called the straw man.
In order to make your straw man argument more in line with what happened, the car you pick would have to be registered in the name of the car dealer when you are in fact the owner once you have chosen the vehilce from the "dozen cars" that were brought to you. That being the case, then you would be in trouble with the department of revenue in your state.

As for your privacy argument, you are suggesting that the laws are different for people like Rush Limbaugh. In other words, he has a different set of laws or ethics, as his privacy is under scrutiny.

By the way, you reproduced my direct question to you, yet you did not answer it. Was that simply an oversight on your part, or do you have no intention of answering it?

Does "bearing false witness" mean anything to you?

    How about totally clueless?

You are correct: he did not apologize. This is further proof that Rush is simply a bad guy.

This is by far the most hilarious statement he has made. Think about that: Rush Limbaugh is accusing someone of being a shill. What was it that the pot called the kettle?

Didn't Fox do a similar ad for a Republican from Pennsylvania? Was Rush outraged then too?

Regards to you and yours, Daisy,

This was not a plea for the Parkinsons disease association, but a political attack ad by the DNC exploiting Fox's disease, to try to add more resistance to legislation banning abortion. Scientists have abandoned embryonic stem cell work as folly, in favor of adult stem cell research which shows great promise.

The two subjects are mutually exclusive.

I heard Sean Hannity say this too. Could you provide us with a link showing that "Scientists have abandoned embryonic stem cell work as folly?" I would very much appreciate it. We are up against the wire with respect to this discussion being closed, so please start another discussion on this if the discussion is closed.

Notice that I asked you nicely.

The Unconscionable Claims of Michael J. Fox
    By Mary Davenport

    EXCERPT

The plain fact is that embryonic stem cell research is proving to be a bust. There are currently 72 therapies showing human benefits using adult stem cells and zero using embryonic stem cells. Scientifically-minded readers can review this medical journal article on the status of adult stem cell research. Adult stem cell therapies are already being advertised and promoted while no such treatments are even remotely in prospect for embryonic stem cell research.

The fact is that adult stem cells have already produced remarkable cures, whereas embryonic stem cells have failed. This should come as no great surprise to anyone with a background in high school biology. When an embryo is created by the union of the sperm and egg, the cells begin to divide, creating embryonic stem cells from which all future tissues and organs are derived. Within days, the embryonic cells differentiate into three cell layers - ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm. Cells in these layers continue to differentiate into tissues and organs. As the embryo matures into a fetus, child, and adult, some undifferentiated cells of the three types remain in various tissues such as bone marrow, fat, skin and olfactory tissue.

These adult stem cells are multipotent: they have the ability to turn into a variety of types of tissues. Successful stem cell therapies cause the DNA in the adult stem cells to further differentiate into more specific types of cells. There is no point in getting the adult stem cell to turn into a less differentiated type of cell, or using the more primitive embryonic stem cells. This would be going backward, in the opposite direction of providing a clinically useful therapy. Difficulties abound with proposed embryonic stem cell therapies. The growth of the more primitive embryonic stem cells is more difficult to control and leads to tumor formation. Recent research suggests brain tumors may result. Additionally, the use of embryonic tissue foreign to the patient can potentially lead to problems with immune rejection of tissue, a problem not encountered in using a patient's own adult stem cells.
