I'm not ignoring anything. I'm commanded to deal my bread to the hungry, not yours. Dealing your bread to the hungry makes me a thief, like CBT.

    Liberalism 101!!

    The liberal theology:
1 What's MINE is mine, and I'll give SOME OF IT to --------!
2 What's YOURS is mine, and I'll give LOTS OF IT to ---------!

I suspect that 90% of the money collected by churches and spent on the poor and oppressed is a lost cause, sending good money after bad. Should all charity and missionary work be eliminated?

The difference with money going to private charity and mission work is that the givers have a choice.

Sorry, but I'm not following how you inferred "Government confiscation" from my post. I simply commented on what you said,

I showed you where it said so. I never indicated that it should be the government's job.

OK, agreed that there is an interesting difference between attempted good thru private charity and attempted good works using tax money.

If natural disaster aid is a good work if done by the Church then is it not also a good work if done by our elected representatives in government?

Isn't the action of the Holy Spirit behind all good works? (God called Whatshisname His servant when the theoretically bad guy invaded the Land?)

CBT did, and I posed the question to him. You stuck your nose in it.

No. Government is not ordained to redistribute wealth. Government is ordained to enforce law.
