These are some of the folks we are trying to build a nation for. Really brave men.

I guess courage is like beauty, in the eye of the beholder...

I prefer the dark meat myself. :BangHead: :BangHead:

The depth of human stupidity was once thought to be vast, but it was later found to be, in fact, infinite.

The problem has been that the Iraqis are a lot less brave when faced with enemies a bit more dangerous than frogs and rabbits.

The enemies they are facing are other Iraqis in these days of civil war and sectarian violence.

I don't see how killing defenseless animals such as frogs and rabbits is an act of courage. Let's see one take on a lion or a crocodile. I can think of plenty of things that require a lot more courage than biting a frog, such as smoke jumping and storm chasing.

It's kind of like Fear Factor, I guess. There aren't too many lions in Iraq these days and not a lot of crocs. Here's one (linkie) though (about a third of the way down).

Different cultures have different ceremonies, they all seem wierd or pointless to outsiders.

Who are we to critisize there culture.

Hillclimber, are you saying that because they have their own cultural ceremonies they do not deserve to be a free nation.

There culture also worships a false god. Do we not criticize that? They treat their women like property. Do we not criticize that?

I've heard from several men, back from Iraq that say these radicals are in fact quasi ferocious when together, but very timid and fearful around American troops. They generally spill their guts when questioned. Paper tigers, that run and hide.

That would hardly be surprising, kind of like people everywhere - in a mob and armed is one thing; on your own, disarmed and in custody of armed violent men is quite another. Most of these guys, as I understand it, are not trained army personnel.

This is pretty much the nature of most people irregardless of race, nationality or creed.
