"But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation." - Mark 3:29

ATHEIST GROUP LAUNCHES $25,000 SALVO IN WAR ON CHRISTMAS
Los Angeles -- December 18, 2006. As part of its ongoing War on Christmas, the Rational Response Squad has launched a $25,000 campaign to entice young people to publicly renounce any belief in the sky God of Christianity.

Called "The Blasphemy Challenge," this campaign encourages participants to commit what Christian doctrine calls the only unforgivable sin -- blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. (The "Holy Spirit" is an invisible ghost who Christians believe dwells on Earth as God's representative.)...

    Blasphemy Challenge

"The Rational Response Squad is giving away 1001 DVDs of The God Who Wasn't There, the hit documentary that the Los Angeles Times calls "provocative -- to put it mildly."

There's only one catch: We want your soul.

It's simple. You record a short message damning yourself to Hell, you upload it to YouTube, and then the Rational Response Squad will send you a free The God Who Wasn't There DVD. It's that easy."

    Foolish People

There are 600+ videos at the above link of people who have apparently accepted the challenge.

"Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name." - Psalm 74:18

We can only hope that what these people are doing is out of ignorance it would be better that they not respond to the challenge at all. When Jesus stated on the cross "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do" He fully understood the ignorance of mankind.

I answer the "blasphemy challenge" with "pascal's wager:"

If you're right and I'm wrong, you've gained nothing, and I've lost nothing.
If you're wrong and I'm right, I've gained everything and you've lost everything.

One of the girls doing her "blasphemy challenge" concluded by shrugging her shoulders, saying, "I deny the Holy Spirit," and holding up a homemade sign..."See You in Hell."

    Sad.

(The "Holy Spirit" is an invisible ghost who Christians believe dwells on Earth as God's representative.)...

That whole thing is pure nonsense. Judging by their description, those atheists don't even know who the Holy Spirit is! :BangHead:

I don't believe what they are doing actually constitutes blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, but it is still heart breaking... how sad.

I agree with mnw. Jesus was on earth performing miracles which were being questioned despite the obvious proof. Jesus isn't on earth right now for Blasphemy to be committed.
    Matthew 12:31-32
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Mark 3 28-29 "Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: but he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation"

I would concur as well. However, if they believe that they have commited the unpardonable sin, then I would expect that their hearts will be hardened. They will believe they have reached a point of no return, making the end result the same.

Is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit even possible, in the church age ?

I don't believe so. I guess our only equivilent would be dying without ever having believed on Christ and recieved Him as our Saviour.
