I'd like to start blogging. I know, I'm the last man aged 35-49 in America without one.

I want to do one for free. And I'd like seperate areas. One for my thoughts on sports, one for theology, one for politics/economics/current events.

Little help? Site recommendations? General advice?

Now look what you've started, Tom.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing, but specific only to racing.

Wordpress looks good, and looks like it can compartmentalize. I'm intrigued.

I wish WordPress segmented these sections a little better. I'd like to have sections at the top (tabbed) to each of my areas.

Maybe I should just do three different blogs. I'd rather not, though.

    Tom Vols,

I wish you success with your blogs!

And, yes, keep the Predators in Nashville [at whatever what was once the Gaylord Entertainment Center is now called -- Summete Center I think is its new name, or something close to that]!

And, while we're at it, keep the Nashville Sounds in Nashville too!! (Rumor has it that they may move to Franklin, TN, [in neighboring Williamson County] or maybe even further away, if the plans for their new riverfront stadium fall through--which may very well happen.)

We're discussing that in the Sports forum. The Sommet Corp can't be happy about their naming rights purchase now :)
I hope the Sounds won't have happen to them what happened to the old Knoxville Smokies. They moved to Sevier County when SC built them a stadium in Kodak with open arms after Knoxville refused to build a riverfront ballpark that UT and the Smokies would've shared. That area is now its own city. Going to a game is now 15 miles more for me.

Knoxville is just stupid about development. I'll probably blog about that.

Can you segment your posts in the areas I want?

I don't even know what that means Tom :) .

I just do a few simple blogs, a daily devotional journal and photo blogs for our church, family, and one for our supporters in the States.

Perhaps Blogger works for me because I don't have a clue what I am doing ;)

Well, if not knowing what you're doing is the prerequisite, then I'm in

I'm wanting to blog on theology/ministry/devotion, sports, and politics/economics/current issues. However, I don't want them all together like a dog's breakfast. I'd like to compartmentalize them without having to do three different blogs. I guess I could do 3, but being a neophyte and thus rather clueless about blogging, I just would prefer to have one blog with three different areas.

Hmm, I looked and saw the tabs on someone's blog. That would be nice in some cases, but my case I am aiming at different audiences.

    One for general reading
    One for our church here
    One for our our supporters
    One for family

So tabs on mine really would not suit me. I don't know if Blogger permits it or not.

I think if you will look into it, you can have tabbed options on the top of your Wordpress page. I haven't really wanted that, so never looked, but I am almost sure I have seen wordpress blogs with that.
