Not sure. If it's: "A type of folk music that originated in the southern United States, typically played on banjos and guitars and characterized by rapid tempos and jazzlike improvisation," then I think I would like it. :)

I spent ten years pleying nothing but bluegrass. Led the worship at the Stevensville Cowboy Camps.

I play guitar, mandolin, banjo, & upright bass.

    I LOVE bluegrass music.

I rank it near the bottom, just ahead of rap.

    I LOVE bluegrass music.

And I play it. Have played with 2 traveling bands, and am currently playing with a band weekly in a regular set location.

My primary instrument these days is the banjo, but I also play the dobro and acoustic guitar.

Here lately I have been going further back into the past then bluegrass, and getting into "Old Time" music, playing what is called "clawmammer" style banjo. Basically it is the style of playing banjo that was going in the the 1800's..up till about 1945 or so when Earl Scruggs's 3 finger "up picking" style became very popular.

    Bluegrass rules! It ROCKS.

I think that definition just killed bluegrass for me. It took every ounce of soul right out of the concept.

I love bluegrass. When I was in college, we had a group that played for fun. We called ourselves "Arkansas Frontporch". We had 2 guitars, a banjo, jugs, I played spoons or harmonica, we had a second harmonica, jews harp, and a guy playing a maracca-like shaker. It was good fun. We played hymns in a bluegrass style.

Typically, my generation doesn't appreciate bluegrass anymore, but I enjoy it.
