Bodily Resurrection

    The fact that it will be our same body that will be resurrected as a changed body is an extremely important point because it follows the pattern of Jesus' resurrection. He did not leave his body behind and get a totally new, different body. It was the same body, but it was changed into an incorruptible body. It still had mass and matter.

    The bodily resurrection of Jesus is an essential of the faith and any denial of or alteration in that belief leads off to cultic doctrines.

    So you would say we are to be resurrected in the same bodily manner as Jesus? His body wasn’t eaten by worms or cremated. The instant we die we will be present with the Lord which apparently shows a division as our bodies must also be here to be resurrected. Did Jesus’ body have a division like that?

    As for any alteration of the essential faith, I haven’t even found anyone in the faith that can explain these happenings. (Facts?)

    Jesus was in a mortal body that was in the grave for 3 days while he was in Paradise. When he resurrected, he resurrected in the same body (he showed Thomas the marks of the nails). Yes, we will be with the Lord when we die but we will get a resurrected body later on, even if it's been cremated or eaten by worms. It's nothing hard for God to somehow get that body back and resurrect it into a changed, incorruptible body. The pattern of what happened with Jesus is the same.
