    Obama campaigned over and over and over (for 2 elections) on having the rich pay more taxes. Obama won the election 332 to 206 in the electoral college. Exit polls showed 63% of the voters want to raise taxes.

    This is not a mandate? Really?

    When the voters re-elect the congress just as it is then any idea of a mandate is out the door. Again Obama is not the only one to get re-elected.

    Let me rephrase it, the republican congress has as much a mandate as Obama. Their mandates are given by those who elected them. Period.

    Republicans lost 8 seats in the House.
    Republicans lost 2 seats in the Senate.

    What is a mandate?
