    Last year the US Senate passed the “Gang-of-Eight” bill to reform immigration laws. This 1000+ page abomination is a con crafted by leftist democrat Senators Schumer and Durbin. Supposedly the Bill, supported by 4 gullible Republcan Senators {Graham, Rubio, McCain, and Flake} guarantees the closing of the border to the invasion of illegals. But consider:

    SEC. 4. SOUTHERN BORDER SECURITY COMMISSION.

    (d) Report- If required pursuant to subsection (a)(2)(B) and in no case earlier than the date that is 5 years after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Commission shall submit to the President, the Secretary, and Congress a report setting forth specific recommendations for policies for achieving ... border security goals specified in subsection (c).


    SEC. 5. COMPREHENSIVE SOUTHERN BORDER SECURITY STRATEGY AND SOUTHERN BORDER FENCING STRATEGY.

    (5) LIMITATION ON REQUIREMENTS- Notwithstanding paragraph (1), nothing in this subsection shall require the Secretary to install fencing, or infrastructure that directly results from the installation of such fencing, in a particular location along the Southern border, if the Secretary determines that the use or placement of such resources is not the most appropriate means to achieve and maintain effective control over the Southern border at such location


    SEC. 1102. ADDITIONAL U.S. BORDER PATROL AND U.S. CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION OFFICERS.

    (a) U.S. Border Patrol- Not later than September 30, 2021, the Secretary shall increase the number of trained full-time active duty U.S. Border Patrol agents deployed to the Southern border to 38,405.

    (b) U.S. Customs and Border Protection- Not later than September 30, 2017, the Secretary shall increase the number of trained U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers by 3,500, compared to the number of such officers as of the date of the enactment of this Act.

    Hopefully the Republican Congress will pass a tough Border Security early next year and institute it immediately.
