Owner of Nevada's "Bunny ranch" endorses Ron Paul.

That's bad publicity. I'd reject the endorsement if it were me.

I can understand why some supporters may not give the same "ring" of greatness as others, but I see it differently.

With this country so torned apart and in need of repair, it's refreshing to see someone that all types of people can relate to and support.

Isn't it refreshing to know that it isn't always one side or the other.. Sometimes, a man can bring people together to stand united.

I know why they endorsed Paul.

Even brothel owners were scared to get a Clinton back in the White house...too much embarrassing behavior...

The Scribe, we both agree that fornication is wrong. Very wrong at that. But can't we agree that 1) the govt isn't likely to be able to enforce laws against prostitution without turning this nation into a police state via a bedroom patrol and 2) turning the nation into a police state wouldn't make the nation more moral, just less free.

==O, I don't know. Considering how little importance these type of endorsements really are, I don't think it matters. I am sure, no...I know, these type people support every candidate. There is nothing the candidates can do about it.

Let's move on to a real issue...

Prostitution is illegal they just need harsher punishments.

This is a legal brothel, that should have never been legalized.

I appreciate what you're trying to do for society. Society should be moral. But so long as an individual poses no violent threat to those around him he should be unmolested by government regardless of his behavior.

Btw, it's almost impossible to enforce laws against prostitution. Here in Lexington, all three of our phone books are filled with escort services willing to make house calls for massages. Nothing can be done about these instances of flagrant prostitution because it isn't illegal (nor should it be) to drive to someone's private residence and massage them. And if escorts and massage services were taken to task, the house call industry would simply morph into "counseling sessions," "friendly chats," you name it. Unless one is willing to advocate bedroom cameras, prohibition does nothing but create an illusion of morality at taxpayer expense.

Perhaps worse, prohibition can actually create violence. If a prostitute is physically harmed against her will, she may not report the violence for fear of legal consequences, as noted in a British newspaper:

Besides, there is a vast greater amount of consenting adults (perhaps millions) having illicit relationships without monetary reward and there's no law against that. Is it somehow worse if money is swopped?

Also, you'll note Christ didn't enforce prostitution laws in John 8. We can conclude that He felt private sin is between man and his God.

You make a valid point about government being established by God. But if one feels government was designed by God to protect natural rights then one would be justified for following closely the words of Goldwater:

It's fine to fight for someone's rights, but to try to fight for or try to justify any sin is a sin itself.

Your blanket statement that all masseuse are prostitutes is wrong. I know there are escort services and they are shut down at times because they are nothing but prostitution rings.

The scriptures usurp man's laws every time.
If something is a sin a man can't change that.

Sin, no matter how one trieds to cover it over, is sin. We can turn our backs on it and pretend it isn't there, but then we are just as guilty if we say nothing as if we committed the sin itself.

To him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

As to AIDS, it is a disease that inflicts more than 80% of the continent of Africa. It is in every country of the world. While we must be careful in how we deal with those who carry this disease, we must also be careful not to invite the disease upon ourselves through that which God calls sin.

You don't agree with the God's Word, Scribe?

    Isaiah 64:6 (KJV)
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

    Romans 3:9-18 (KJV)
What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; [10] As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: [11] There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. [12] They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. [13] Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: [14] Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: [15] Their feet are swift to shed blood: [16] Destruction and misery are in their ways: [17] And the way of peace have they not known: [18] There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Ken - We are not all like the owner of the brothel or like smut peddler Larry Flint. There are people who continually sin and never repent.

Others repent and change their ways.
