Well I did a google search and couldnt find a link to viewing it, but my goodness this commercial is already becoming the stuff of legend.

I think I googled the phrase "Burger Kings Big Bucking Chicken Commercial" or something like that and "woooo doggies" did a whole bunch of stuff come up! :D

    I haven't seen the commercial.

Unless things have changed, you can't copyright a 'tune' or 'melody', so maybe a lawsuit won't be a possibility.
    Haven't heard the P/W song either . . . [IMG]

    Thanks PJ -

OK that has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen on a commercial. As far as it ripping off a Don Moen song, I couldn't tell. Pete is right, unfortunately alot of his songs sound like this and its difficult to tell. It certainly isn't one of his massive hits like "God Will Make a Way."

And Chick Fil-a IS better anyway. [IMG]

All the fun happens here while I'm [IMG] :( [IMG]

But anyways, the one PJ found was better quality (if such a thing can be said about that ad [IMG] ) than the one I saw last night [IMG]

The big question now is how many worship leaders will add Big Bucking Chicken to their playlist, and if they did how many of the congregation would notice [IMG] :D

Right I just watched it, now before I go wash my eyes out with sulfuric acid I'd like to make some comments.

Yes, somebody at the advertising agency got this brilliant idea late at night after complaining for several hours that he couldn't use the F-word.

I suspect that both Moen and Burger King borrow their music from the same third party.

This add isn't nearly as bad as an earlier Tendercrisp commercial that I would say was bordline soft-core porn.

And that BK King guy really whigs me out. Their latest add campain doesn't make me hungry for BK.

No wonder Burger King closed here in Branson. I thought it was because their food was gross.

I don't see any porn there, but lots of corn!

Did anyone notice the cameo in that one by the Big Buckin' Chicken?

There was another one from a few years ago that was worse. It was like this one, with the same guy singing the same song (isn't that Hootie?) but with all the girls wearing skimpy "country girl" outfits (kind of the way Mary Ann from Giligan looked a lot).

As for the song used for the Chuicken in the OP, that surely does sound like a P&W song.

I can vaguely remember decades ago, when the king was animated (and competed with Ronald McDonald), and then in the late 70's, they had a live action one too, who was opposed by "the Duke of Doubting".

    Joshua,

Oh now I have to disagree there.

One of the great things in life is a DOUBLE BEEF WHOPPER with CHEESE. :D

Surely there will be those in HEAVEN! [IMG]

My husband loves those too! ;)

I was talking with one of my kids yesterday about this topic and he reminded me of the BK commercial where Mr. Whopper and Jr. Whopper were having a conversation ending in Jr. saying, "What are you gonna do? Spank my buns?"

Who thinks this stuff up? [IMG]

The Burger King here had at least three things against it:

    Bad access
    Dirty store
    Bad service

I've never liked BK... but my wife loves it! I'm sure our coming baby will develop a taste for it and have BK too whenever they run up to Springfield. I'll stick to Fudd's, Wendy's, or a few of the Mom and Pop places here in town. [IMG]

Good Times Burgers here uses 100% Coleman Natural Beef. Good stuff!

Still, my very favorite old-timey burger...

It is kind of bad when you call a song "christian" and the same melody can be turned into a BK commercial. Agreed? I do not know about you but I will stick with the old songs with the same familiar melodies. (i.e.- Revive Us Again, Old Rugged Cross, etc.)you can't really call some of those ccm choruses songs when they only have 4 different words. [IMG]

    preach,

first, I see you're new. I encourage you to look through and post your thoughts on topics that are relevant to the posts.

Second, I'm sure you feel strongly about hymns vs. ccm. But you'll find that there are quite a few folks here who have done a lot of study, prayer, research, and observation on the issue. Bring your thoughts to the table, but prepare to be challenged. You'll be expected to "back up" what you assert--with contextual scripture, and other data as well. Be ready to go beyond what you've always heard.

Thirdly, this thread kind of took a silly turn...I wouldn't put much stock in it (I'm probably one of the culprits  )
