Burning a religious holy book

    Burning is traditionally a respectful method for destroying items.

    How many of us who have lived long enough to destroy old, page torn, worn out Bibles? I have.

    Burning such books in a public display is another matter.

    No government anywhere in the world should burn religious holy books and if they do the media should report on it.

    Was the purpose of this to be respectful of the items or was it to just destroy them.

    To destroy - so it would not appear that we were trying to proselyte the Muslims.
