Calif prop 14 will change primaries in California. If the prop passes on Tue 9 June than there will be no closed primaries in CA. Rather when you go to vote in the primary, you will see everyones name on one ballot. The two top vote getters will then seek a runoff in Nov.

For example, there may be 3 Republicans, 1 Democrat, 1 Scaliest, 2 Right to Life, 5 Constitution Party and 9 independents.

    What do you think?

I love this. This is how we do city and county elections here, except if someone gets a majority in the primary, that person is elected and it does not proceed to the general election.

    Here are the problems:
    1. Suppose there are 3 Rep and 1 Dem,
well the rep vote will be split and the dem could be elected in the "primiary" (remember it could also work in reverse for the dems)

    2. It would allow independets to vote against and / or for major party candidates

    3. more info comming later

Party endorsement will still be important. Nothing will change. Or it might be easier for the international corporations to buy one candidate in each party even if he isn't the party's favorite son.
