    Dear Concern Citizens,

Just when you think TV can’t sink any lower, it does.
During the halftime program for the Super Bowl, CBS showed singer Justin Timberlake tearing off singer Janet Jackson’s top, exposing her breast.

The two singers were performing “Rock Your Body,” a risqué duet to end the half time show. The final lyric of the song goes, “Going to have you naked by the end of this song.”

In addition, the halftime show included:

    Janet Jackson grabbing her breasts
Sean P. Diddy repeatedly fondling his crotch
    Striptease cheerleaders
    Gyrating transvestites
    Simulated lesbian sex
Jackson and Timberlake groping each other
According to the Drudge Report, top CBS executives approved the Jackson exposure prior to the game. "The decision to go forward went to the very top of the network," Drudge quoted a well-placed source in New York. Jackson and Timberlake got the ok from CBS for their performance.
In addition, an ad for Bud Lite showed a talking chimp, blatantly asking his owner "babe" if she would like to go upstairs to have sex with him.

Here is what you can do to put a stop on this kind of indecent, profane, vulgar and tasteless programming.

Send an email to the FCC, your Representative and two Senators:

You know what we did to stop this kind of activity?

About 5 years ago we got rid of cable tv and haven't watched a network ran program in our home since.

Our preacher has been preaching the past two weeks on the war that wages within (Romans 7). He said what goes in eventually comes out. You watch enough of that stuff and it will penetrate your home and your children.

You didn't STOP anything Walls. You just don't VIEW it. However, millions of American children DID and we need to speak out against such filth.

    Diane

(I wrote the FCC a formal letter which got mailed today. I sent them an email. I also wrote CBS, the NFL, all of my elected officials, etc.)

No, I didn't stop it, just from coming into my home. We quit watching tv programs, when networks began to promote homosexuality on tv. Did Christian's write letters then? Did it stop the wickedness on tv? The Bible says to abstain from all appearance of evil. Can we really make a difference? It didn't in Noah's day, when every imagination was only evil continually.

Walls, You did right by removing the TV if you feel God wanted you too do so. I have been thinking the same thing, however in regurads to Noah, He did make a difference. 8 were saved and we are the results of his standing and preaching. Just because the world turns a deaf ear to us, we are to keep standing. You never know whose life will be changed eternally. ;)

    Amen!

One thing is for sure, if you really want to make a difference, make up signs and go protest your local NBC affliate. I am sure Granny Gumbo can help you think of some good ones! [IMG]

Actually it is CBS, but NBC probably needs a warning also. :D

I was taking you seriously, until that line. That commercial was one of the most hilarious and inventive commercials of the day. It wasn't distasteful at all.

Still, I support letting the higher-ups know that it might be a good idea if they got someone other than MTV to provide the halftime entertainment next year. Better yet, of NFL could control their own fans, and change their image from a rowdy-party-drunken free-for-all fan league to something a little more respectable, that wouldn't hurt, either. Personally, while I do enjoy a good game, complaining about the halftime show is like walking into a strip joint and complaining about the naked women.

Here we go with the name calling....Baptists love to call each other names, eh?

My question is this: Why do we expect non-Christians to act like Christians?

Am I a liberal for saying that I support letting the higher-ups know about our disappointment with halftime?
Am I a liberal because I acknowlege that the NFL attracts rowdy-party-drunken free-for-all fans, and that as a Christian, I prefer more tame sporting events?
Or am I a liberal because I thought the talking monkey ad was funny?

    Amen to both!

God calls for us to come out from among them and be seperate. Our we seperate when we name call? Our we seperate when partake of such activites that do attract drunken rowdy parties?

Another round of expecting the lost to act like Christians because moral lost people are better off than wicked lost people. Nice. How utterly surprising to see this thread.

Johnv, I agree with AFA that that commercial was wrong. With the tolerance in this country toward adultery and fornication, and now tholerance toward sodomy, the next thing is beastiality. It seems funny, but I remember not to many years ago the jesting of to guys flirting was seen as funny, but outlandish. Besides it was not only promoting beastiality, but it was vulgar in content also.

I still wonder why this continues to be the topic of concern. How much advertising are we going to give this halftime show?

We are having a presidential primary here in Oklahoma today.....Did anyone remember? Did the news remind us....just barely? All the news is about the half time show.

Yes, we need to stop the decay of morals on television, but have you watched some of the other shows this season.....Some are nearly as bad in their language and suggestions.

Walls, you are on the right tract to keep such things out of your home; however, I am going to keep my TV and my cable (I'm using it right now on the internet) I will turn off my TV or not watch if I find something offensive and I will guide my grandchildren on what to watch. When a show does not have viewers, it fails....

I have never approved of MTV, but apparently it has been popular for 20+ years.

I didn't see but the last 4 minutes of the game so I can't give my opinion of the half time show or the commercials.

The chimp commercial was potentially the worst one of all. Jackson's and Timberlake's ignorant stunt was what we expect out of human debris like them.

But the chimp commercial made sex sound cheap and ha ha so funny. In addition to the stupid bestiality.
