I have been called of God to the missions field. Would anyone like to tell me about their calling or God's will for your life. I am very interested.

I accepted the call to preach in '97. I was saved in '90, and immediately felt God calling me to something more. I ran. I discovered that God can outrun, outmaneuver, and outwit any man, any day.

In the past year or so, God has narrowed that calling, from preaching to pastoring. I am not a pastor yet, and I do not forsee it in te near future (makes for a very frustrating time).

Kayla, whatever you do, do not let Satan discourage you. Discouragement is his greatest weapon against anyone that has been called of God, be it as preacher, pastor, or missionary. Look to Jesus Christ for strength and encouragement. Lean on Him, not your own will or strength. Follow hard and close wherever He leads you.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

I am called to be a teacher on the mission field/Missionary or pastor's wife. I am only 15 and got a long ways to go. Right now I am praying to God to show me the right college to go to.I am praying about several. my friend says I am lucky to get my calling at such an early age. This is proably true. My friend Brad was called to preach at 13. [IMG] I am ready for what God sends my way and ready to follow his will.

Through His Word and preaching, God touched my heart with an overwhelming burden to preach and teach His Word.

July 1963. Never questioned it. I trained to be a pastor and was from 70-84, 88-96. Taught pastors in 84-88 and 96-00.

Ministries change. Call of God into full service does not.

BTW, my wife felt called to be a teacher in a mission school in Brazil. This kept her focused during high school and then off to Bible College to train.

She met me and became a pastor's wife! Hang in there gal, there's guys like me out there still!

Can you be called to be a pastors wife?
I have seen too many young ladies marry the first "preacher boy" with a ring. Marry whomever you love if he is a preacher fine.

Yes I believe that women are "called" to be a Pastor's wife. (At least some are) The Pastor's wife has to be very supportive of her husband's ministry, understanding when he is called in the wee hours of the morning because someone has been rushed to the hospital, and the list is probably endless.
I've heard many Pastors say they couldn't make it without their wife's loving support.

I know some Pastors wives that are definitely not called to be preachers wives. And they will say that it was their husband that was called into the ministry, not them. Sad.

Yes! You most certainly can. My dil was called to be a preacher's wife when she was in her early teens. She married my son (who is a preacher) and they just celebrated their 20th anniversary together.

It is not easy to be a preacher's wife. They must be a 'super' helpmeet, submissive, above reproach, willing to be at home alone alot sometimes, more than usual amount of responsibility for raising the kids, ready for her husband to be 'on call', having plans changed at the last minute because of a death, illness, etc., etc.

I'm sure there are many women who profess to be 'called' to be a preacher's wife who really aren't; but that doesn't negate the fact that it IS a real calling.

My son tells everyone he would not be the preacher he is today had it not been for a Godly wife following her 'call'. [IMG]

My response is that we are all called into ministry. We are all called to make disciples. How we carry out God's call may be done in many ways.
