    On what basis?

I don't want to put words in your mouth...Is this what you (calvinist) believe as some people on this board think about you, or is this just gossip?

"Calvinist: Make GOD out to be some kind of puppet master that plays around with His robotic pons..."

    The Gosple of Jesus Christ!
"God's Grace- We are saved by GRACE!", not if we believe in the calvinist doctrine or not.

Thats right, God is soveriegn enough to save non-calvinist, If He Can't save anyone (calvinist or NOT) that He so choses then HE will no longer be soveriegn?

How can we come to HIM, unless the Spirit draw us? We can't....Free willers seem to agree...

How can we chose HIM if we are/were dead in our sins? We can't....Free willers seem to agree...

Can a our carnal (mind) man understand the things of GOD? We can't...Free willers seem to agree...

Unless, God inlightens us by HIS Spirit...Free willers seem to agree...

    The Gosple of Christ!
Please read: Eph.2:8-9, Titus 3:5, and the whole books of Romans and Galations.

Grace and the WORKs of the Law don't mix...Read...Galations

It's just gossip - it's best not to get too worked up over what the haters have to say.

    just wondering

"Haters" is a very strong word to use. It seems to me that you would consider "free willers" not even saved?

I like to keep people guessing....lol

I am not a calvinist by any means, even though I do tend to come through as a calvinist in my postings...For Ex.: Did you see my post "Free will is TRUE", It is almost the same as this one. I think that I may have made SKYPAIR:confused rather or not I am a calvinist. His post seems to indicate that he thinks that I am a calvinist...lol

    "Free will is TRUE"...........
Check out Skypair's post.....I hope that they will respond to what I posted in reply to his/her reply........
    http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=37617

But, I do not want to be considered as a "free willer" eithier, because there are different definitions on this board to what a "free willer" is to be defined. Plus, I know to many "free willers" that I can not see as believing "salvation is by the GRACE of God", and how can I reconize those "free willers" as brothers/sisters in Christ. I can't. I am NOT saying that all free willers (and calvinist for that matter) are lost, but I think very few are saved. God is our judge and who HE saves shall be saved, and those He does not save shall not be saved........

Most Calvinist that I have talked to would agree to some degree that God has given men "free will" or a "moral agentcy", but I think that our will/chioces are very limited by the soveriegnty of GOD...In other words: If we do have a "free will", it is not much of one........

I like the post: A Calvinist who believes in free will...

Well, I hope that you will keep my "secret"...lol

Calvinism is biblical theology . It stays ture to the biblical record . A number of your ancestors were probably godly Calvinists . Go back to the old paths Gordon . God will bless you for it .

No, of course not. "Haters" is a slang term for people who put down or criticize others, usually out of ignorance or jealousy. In this case I reckon it's usually ignorance, but not always.

What is the basis for judging truth?

Old paths, New paths = all judged by the truth - God's Word.

Is there a "law" that states that beliefs of the past are accurate?

On what basis do you feel the "old paths" are greater than the truth of the Bible in the present?

I am 59 headed toward 60 do you think for just a little bit, just a little, that I might have at least read some of the trash of the past from the likes of Calvin?

Don't take that the wrong way. The written word on here may come across the wrong way. I say it in a laughing frame of thinking as poking fun, not in any anger or displaced emotions.

Just so you will know I was saved on September 20, 1970. I have been dealing and reading and study this stuff on and off from that time both personally and academically. I have stacks of journals and I have my share of books, way to many. I still buy them and read them. My reading today is more in the practical area that the DEEP things of theology. But I still dabble here and there.

There comes a time when you settle the issues in your own mind, heart and soul. I have them completely settled and they have been that way for years.

I do this to kill time as I work my Locksmith Business. It helps me keep my mind sharp and I do enjoy telling the truth and exposing the false. Calvinism is false doctrine in my book and my book is the Bible.

The amazing thing I see on forums is the avoidance of actually dealing with the text. People bob and weave and quote and spit and sputter, and find it very difficult to just read the text of Scripture and repeat what it says. Keep the Bible in Context.

I see men and women of all levels of education on forums massacre contextual study. I just recently started on John 1:1-12 and before it ended many addressing the text could not stay within the text and let it speak for itself.

First, we must be able to let the text say what it says. Move to the next sub topic, or parenthetical statement and as we do so we see the outline and there may be a statement later that helps in the former, but first deal with the former then the later and in the end compare all its parts to see the whole picture. Most can’t do that. It is hard work, takes discipline, focus, stick to it ness attitude, setting aside our own views and so on. Not many do that on forums. They claim to do it but they don’t. They bounce all over the Bible using passages out of context and constantly quote others because they either are lazy or inept to do their own work.

Last word: Study as many authors, books, periodicals you can and train yourself in the discipline of bible study methods. Grammar is first and that includes form / genre.

In all reality Grammar, form, historical culture or the time of writing and thing like morphology are the staple of any good Bible Study.

Remember as you develop your skills, this is not an IQ thing here, and you learn and discipline yourself to do your own work you will teach and preach with greater confidence and I believe the fruit will be greater. I hate teacher and preachers that rely on others to do their thinking . Show me someone like that and I will show you a lazy person or someone how really does not have things settled in their belief system. You can spot them at a great deistance.

Biblical theology doesn't teach that infants and aborted babies go to hell.

It is amazing how much hate a supposed Christian can have. These debates have become so hateful, that I am getting tired of participating in them. GS has allowed his hatred of a doctrine to spread to those who believe the doctrine.... hense his name calling. I don't know how much longer the mods will allow him to spew his hatred. I'm praying for him. I know I have allowed these debates to go to far myself, and find myself now loving some of those with whom I have previously had heated debates. We should love one another. Lord help us.

Hey webdog. I quoted Rippon on that thread where he was exchanging with Allan. If you look closely, you will see that he said "badies" go to hell. It was a play on words. I think he was pulling Allan's leg... but I could be wrong. Rippon, you don't believe that infants go to hell do you?

I don't think so. It was either him or pinoy I have spoken with on the matter before and one stated so do and some don't based on Gods sovereign choice. However, I don't think he believes 'all' babies go to hell.

I know johnp believe some do and some don't go to hell, but he is another story.
