This is a interesting question. I know that demons can posses false converts and the unsaved. They can influence Christians, and according to some theologians (Erwin Lutzer & Tim Layhe) demons can appear as actual people, just as what you see when you watch a certain episode in the X-files Season 8. I am not sure of all the passages that Lutzer and Layhe use to back up that theology. So the question is can they be people?

Once I was out street witnessing and encountered a man that was not normal. His eyes were not normal, and something inside of him really wanted to attack me, but he was held back by himself, or the angels that protect me. I have witnessed to thousands of people, and he was different. Its been about 2 years since I met that man, if he really was a man, I am not sure as demons can appear to be people in some cases. Or can they?

I have encountered them, but I would say that the demon
usually stays subdued. It is only when the demon dominates
(comes forward) in the person that you can clearly discern that
the person is not saved, and as well, beyond any possibility of
salvation IMO. If this has happened to you, it is most likely that
the Devil is just trying to scare you. A strong REBUKE is in order...
like "get thee behind me Satan".

A demon can possess and or influence a saved person or an unsaved person. They need cast out of the person in Jesus' name.

They also may be able to appear as real people.

They cannot materialize as real people. This man could have been possessed, mentally ill, or extremely annoyed by you, but not a real demon.

We have one on here who reported one who drove a black sports car and followed a couple pastors on the road, then came into a diner where they were eating and gave them an earful.

I have seen some evidence of demon-possessed people, but I cannot imagine that they appear as real people. Rather it is real people who are possessed.

And, it is not quite as simple as "casting them out in Jesus name." We have examples in Scripture where that process didn't work as planned. Neither did it in the cases I've seen...

It is certainly hair-raising freaky when an encounter occurs. EVERYONE learns how to pray, earnestly, and really fast!

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Some take this verse as meaning Satan and the demon angels can appear in any form. If they can appear in any form to people open to those things could it be they can appear a flying object that is unidentified?

Of course this says satan and his messengers can appear as messengers of light and ministers of righteousness.

And, I believe we have material witnesses to that end in the testimonies of Joseph Smith and Muhammad, both of whom testified that an "angel of light" appeared to them with a very similar message -- none of the scriptures used by the church were correct, but this new version is indeed the real truth -- and millions have been led astray!

    I have first-hand experience.
The experience was with a blood relative.
The blood relative is very closely related.
This relative has been a regular church goer for many decades.
But, when (do to unusual circumstances) "backed into a corner",
the demon came forward in an attempt to totally humiliate and belittle me.
To be honest, I had always took her word for it that she was a Christian.
She easily has fooled all her friends, her pastor, and even her family.
But I know the Devil's work when I see it and it was undeniable.
The sad part is that she is going straight to HELL.
I am assuming that she "resisted" the Holy Spirit over and over again,
    and that has serious consequences.............
For me it was a "life changing" moment, and I no longer look at people the same.
I'm 1,000% more "perceptive" now with every person I encounter.
Truly, we live in a spiritual world and the "material" is but an illusion.

Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known
Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we [him] no more.
    2 Cor 5:16

I believe my freshmen year biology teacher was one.

My experience was rather similar. A woman who was an avowed witch, but who claimed Christ, attended our church for multiple years. She was always the source of problems, however, and the entire issue came to a crux one night during a business meeting. As we discussed the senior pastor's wage issues and were debating a raise so he could better feed his family, she stood in the midst of the congregation and spoke in a decidedly demonic voice. It made shivers run up and down my spine -- in the most gravely, male, extremely low voice, this normally shrill woman spits out, "Let the devil have the pastor, he is already his!"

The entire congregation went into a tizzy, people were crying, some were praying for Jesus. I took control of the meeting and escorted the woman from the sanctuary. Though she would normally talk to me for hours we never again spoke. She left and left town the next day.

    Weird stuff for sure.

IMPOSSIBLE for a true Christian to ever be possessed, as Jesus Himself dwells within them, in the person of the HS, so God and satan cannot be in 'same house!"

can be hareesed/oppressed by demonic forces, especially IF let our spiritual guard down!

I am not sure where Tim Layhe or Erwin Lutzer get their theology in this regard other than Gen 6.

I was the one that told that story, and I reported it just as it was told me by a very godly pastor. I have no reason not to believe him.

We have many accounts in scriptures of angels appearing as men in the bible, such as the two angels who lodged with Lot and ate dinner with him. They also grabbed hold of Lot and pulled him inside when the men of Sodom were pressing Lot against his door. If good angels can materialize as men, why can't fallen angels?

    Gen 19:1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

Can angels materialize as men? YES.

    As far as the topic of the thread goes, I believe that demons are disembodied entities;
whereas, angels have a body and can, under certain circumstances, materialize.
As well, we have a large number of angels (could be 1/3 of all angels) that "gave up" their spiritual bodies and became "earthbound":
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, [Tartarus] and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; - 2 Pet 2:4
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation [oikētērion], he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. - Jude 1:6

I believe that these fallen angels are being "held in reserve" for the Great Tribulation
and are described in Revelation 9 coming out of the "bottomless pit" (ie: Tartarus) where
they have undergone metamorphosis since their first visitation in Genesis 6.
