can God change His mind?

    Yes. God knows everything that can be known.

    Yes. God has perfect knowledge.

    No. There is nothing too hard for God.

    God knows all that exists and can potentially exist. Open theists affirm that.

    But open theists understand the nature of time differently than many people in the Western World (whose worldview is heavily influenced by Greek philosophy) and believe that only the present exists. The past is only preserved in memory and the future does not exist to any great degree.

    The concept of time does not describe a concrete linear progression with both the past and the future extending out from the present, but rather it is a description of how human beings relate to the memory of the past, the immediacy of the present and plan for the future (setting appointments, making plans, negotiating contracts, etc.).

    For me, the question of open theism rests on a biblical understanding of time. I have been researching the issue for a few years now and am open to discussion on the nature of time itself – from a biblical perspective.
