Doesn't anybody else know that there is a scientist whose one accomplishment is inventing a pill that makes super strength and flying possible? But it only works on one person-- Mr. Terrific.

  3. "Former skeptics have to shrug their shoulders now in an answer to the question about the phenomenon of levitation. It would be stupid to deny it after the ?flying Dutch frog.?"

Seems to me that an article in Pravda is a long way from solid evidence. You must understand that the media in Russia does not scrutinize their information very closely, not to the extent that the responsible media does in the United States.

I hope nobody minds me throwing my two cents in but, levitation is highly possible, as is telekenisis aka phsychokinesis. Levitation is nothing more than minipulating the electronic particles of a substance, thus the appearence of being able to move something without touching it. the same aplies to biological life forms such as animals or human beings.

How does moving objects at a distance with your mind relate to manipulating the electronic particles of a substance -- manipulating electronic particles with your mind?? How do you do that?

Well tranportation of human particles happens on Star Trek all the time! Everything else in Star Trek seems to have now been invented or on the way. [IMG]

    Faith:
    Baptist
    Main Entry: lev·i·tate
    Function: verb
    Etymology: levity
intransitive senses : to rise or float in the air especially in seeming defiance of gravitation
    Merriam Webster dictionary.

Our phrase is the Ascension which also does not appear in the text, but "lifted up":

    Strong's
    1869 epairo {ep-ahee'-ro}
Meaning: 1) to lift up, raise up, raise on high Origin: from 1909 and 142; TDNT - 1:186,28; v
    Usage: AV - lift up 15, exalt (one's) self 2, take up 1, hoisted up 1; 19

You are correct in that it's usually associated with the occult though its not an essential part of the word's meaning.

But, I agree that I was wrong in using it because it could offend others sensibilities.

If so, I am sorry I offended you and/or anyone else.

Its ok, Brother Hank----I suppose in that sense---you could call our future Rapture---a levitation---but "rapture" doesn't sound so "cultish"---know what I mean???

Can you imagine me, the preacher sayin'

OK, folks, the Bible teaches that we're gonna "levitate" out of here one day!!"

But let me ask---levitation is attempted through one's mind---through the body, etc.---but at rapture/resurrection-----the "levitation" won't have anything to do with our minds----but will be a command---we will obey the trumpet call, won't we??? It won't be up to each individual to "levitate" up to Jesus---but it will be His voice that will "draw us up"---see what I mean???
