If they don't win the election, then they don't win.

If they do win (maintain one or both houses), won't the cry of voter fraud, voter intimidation, rigged voting machines, etc. be incredible?

If hte Dems win, will AP, Galatian, and others complain about the possibility of voter fraud making it happen? (I mention them because they seem to be one's frequently involved in discussions of Republican voter fraud.) Will they be quick to point out that the voting machines may have been rigged?

    What will the response be?

Larry actually pick up a paper today!

What on Gods green earth are you talking about larry??? this midterm is one of the worst and slimiest in our nations history now!...just George Allen alone and the robo-calls hitting the lines yesterday...voter suppression and intimidation...Scott Kleeb an honest broker and a breath of fresh air in Nebraska is being slimed with robo-calls using his voice ..and its the RNCC.

    [IMG]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wlKDn2hZ48

now in real time this is what is happening to Scott today ..and for the record another honest broker Tom Osborne was not on the Rove Squad in Nebraska and he lost his primary for Govenor.

GOP fraudulent "robo-calls" in Nebraska are actually using the Dem candidate's voice!
by John in DC - 11/07/2006 12:48:00 PM

    Throw these people in jail.

Now the Republicans are actually using Democrat Scott Kleeb's voice and calling people several times an hour in order to harass them, and tick them off against Kleeb. This has been happening across the country simultaneously. It's been happening in states where the Republican party hired a specific company that makes these kind of calls. This is a coordinated nationwide effort by the Republican party to suppress voting through fraud.

I want these people in jail. And if the laws aren't strong enough to catch them, then we strengthen the laws when we take over congress. No one should be allowed to defraud voters of their vote - not Democrats, not Republicans. Either party does this, you go to jail for a long time. It just happens that this election, all the fake calls are targeting Democrats.

    Had enough?

This is from Nebraska's "The Independent" (I'm not linking because you have to register to see the content, and the registration is impossible to navigate - so they lose.)
Just because it's Scott Kleeb's prerecorded voice on the other line, doesn't mean his campaign is behind the phone call, according to his communications director.

Prerecorded telephone messages supposedly from Kleeb, a Third Congressional District candidate, have been repeatedly calling people in Central Nebraska, and Ben Lumpkin, Kleeb's communications director, is concerned about the effects.

The messages, known as robocalls, are designed to inform voters about certain candidates. However, Lumpkin said he has received numerous complaints about the prerecorded messages calling repeatedly -- as many as six times an hour....

"We've had a couple of people who said they were tired of the harassing phone calls and wanted us to stop calling," she said. Some of them said they weren't going to vote for Kleeb, or at all, as a result, she said. "It's creating a bad environment for our volunteers," she said. "The point is to depress voter turnout."

Quirk said Kleeb's campaign isn't behind the repeated calls and she worries about the robocalls' impact. "They'll probably find out who's doing this, but it won't be today or tomorrow, and by then it will be too late," she said Monday....

One of the people who had complained about the calls is Jack Sandeen, a HastingsÂ? resident who volunteered with Kleeb's campaign this summer.

Sandeen came into the Adams County Democratic Party headquarters Monday to tell Quirk about the calls and even spoke to Kleeb, who stopped by the office while in Hastings. Sandeen said he and his wife had received five calls between Sunday evening and Monday. His wife listened to one of the calls in its entirety and, since she told her husband about the call, he hung up when they got another one....

He thought it was odd they received more then one call and said the recording was of low quality, like a recording of a recording....

According to the Associated Press, in at least 53 competitive House races, the National Republican Campaign Committee had launched hundreds of thousands of robocalls, which had sparked a handful of complaints to the FCC.

FCC rules say all prerecorded messages must state clearly the identity of the business, individual or other entity that is responsible for initiating the call, and that statement must be at the beginning of the message, according to the Associated Press.
so larry you want to talk about that...it is all about the scales larry and they seem to be heavily weighted towards the RNC and RNCC in dealing in slime and dirty harrasment calls.

==This is part of the reason I am sick and tired of both political parties. Democrats have learned that you don't lose elections (be it against another democrat or a republican). Instead the election is always stolen. Either they failed to get their message out or the other side cheated (they will claim this even when there is NO proof). It is part of politics. It works. I saw Howard Dean on tv last night and he basically admitted what I said above.

Don't get me wrong the republicans are no better. Both parties, at the federal level, are full of liars, hypocrites, fornicators, adulterers, homosexuals, perverts, and theives. It is that simple.

    Btw...I am being nice

Martin by all means you can stay but don't you think you take a break if it bothers u

For about the 1500th time you keep saying the same thing and i am trying to get across to larry what is happening in real time..today..now! but I have to wade through another one of your ..."I am not voting ..blah...blah...blah...blah because both are blah...blah..blah..blah.

Naked truth and please listen...Republicans control the Government ..checks and balances are at its weakest since Nixon.

To put the Democrats on an even scale is disingenious ..it just isn't so in real time or now! You might have a case with history but to judge them on par with the Republicans(now!)just does not work.

Imho it is a way for Republican leaders and the noise machine to try and dilute blame from them and their control of Congress, The Presidency and the Supreme Court.

I see through it ...the answer is to bring back checks and balances and accountability and people like Tom Osborne and Scott Kleeb who imho are honest brokers .

They may not make it because of RNC and RNCC dirty tricks.

Well in fact Tom Osborne did not make it.

Nothing personal could we just have 100 more of why you are not voting and it please stop!

    AP,

Would you mind commenting on the thread itself, rather than going on a rant about some irrelevant issue?

The RNCC has no corner on slime. I have seen it here in Michigan from the Dems. It has happened in VA, all over. None of that is the topic of this thread. It is clear that you are proving my point however. You immediately take off blaming Republicans.

Now, get on the topic of this thread: If the Dems win, will you assert that there was voter fraud and voter intimidation that influenced the outcome of the election toward the Dems?

Out of all the words we might use to describes AP's opinion, "humble" is not one of them. There is nothing humble about your opinion.

You don't know that. I have seen Democrats tell whoppers as big as Republicans. It is disgusting.

And why in the world did you repeat your post?

What is your deal, AP? This is hilarious. You have now posted essentially the same thing three times, and we do not know if it is true. It may be. It may not be. The fact that you are posting does not help it's credibility, to be honest. But it may be true.

It is irrelevant. No one disputes that some Republicans pull dirty tricks. The Dems do the same thing, even right now.

So will you claim voter fraud and intimidation if the Dems win?

I don't know whether it will be credible or incredible as it hasn't happened and I am not psychic.

That might depend on whether credible stories of fraud are reported.

    Depends on the circumstances.

What is the point of criticizing people for stuff which hasn't happened? People can just as easily speculate on what Pastor Larry will claim.

GOP distributing false sample ballots in Maryland
by Joe in DC - 11/07/2006 03:13:00 PM

The Maryland GOP has sunk to another new low. They bussed in homeless people from out-of-state to distribute fake, misleading sample ballots in Prince Georges County. The Governor's wife was right in the thick of this latest GOP scam:
Inaccurate sample ballots describing Republican Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. and Senate candidate Michael S. Steele as Democrats were handed out to voters in at least four polling sites in Prince George's County this morning.

The ballots were handed out by people who said they arrived by buses this morning from Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Erik Markle, one of the people handing out literature for Ehrlich, who is seeking reelection, and Steele, the current lieutenant governor who is campaigning to replace retiring Sen. Paul Sarbanes (D), said he was recruited at a homeless shelter in Philadelphia.

After a two-hour bus ride to Maryland, Markle said the workers were greeted early this morning by first lady Kendel Ehrlich, who thanked them as they were outfitted in T-shirts and hats with the logo for Ehrlich's reelection campaign. Nearly all of those recruited, Markle said, are poor and black. Workers traveled to Maryland in at least seven large buses.

The Republicans are shameless. They lie and misrepresent themselves at every opportunity. The Governor and Mrs. Ehrlich should be very proud of their role in this.

You almost run out of words for how despicable the GOP has been this year.

There have to be consequences for the bad behavior.

of course all this must be investigated along with all the RNCC robo calls
but what political operatives and slime merchants love ..is that it works in the 11th hour and they cannot be touched until it is investigated by that time they are in ...and in power ..and will take care of their cronies and operatives.

As far as control of the House is concerned, voter intimidation, faked phone calls, etc. are probably too little, too late. Rove seems to have misjudged the depth of anger among democrats, independents, and even among many republicans.

It would take fraud on a truly massive scale this time.

I didn't criticize anyone for stuff that hasn't happened. I asked a question. I thought that was clear from the words and punctuation I used.

I did criticize AP for posting hte same stuff three times, now four it looks like. But that was for stuff he did, not stuff that "hasn't happened yet." I am not sure why the moderator doesn't remove all but one of them.
