Not at all. I'll sleep well.

I simply take the long term view. Democrats, by taking the House, will eventually lose far more than they think they have gained. All you have to do is look at the names that will be chairing committees. Most of them are so far to the left, they are out of step with their own party and definitely out of step with the vast majority of Americans. Voters will realize this within the next 4 years and replace them with an even larger, more conservative Republican majority in the House than has been seen in anyones lifetime.

Republicans deserve to lose. They stopped acting like Republicans some time back. The long term effect is that it will shock them into going back to the policies that put them in the majority in the first place. IOW They'll start acting like Republicans again instead of big spending, big government democrats.

My only regret is that absolutely nothing legislatively will be accomplished in the next 2 years. But the same would have applied if the Republicans remained in power.

Onward and upward! God is in control!

I will continue to defend our troops from scurrilious attacks by liberals and democrats of all descriptions.

But Bush and the Republicans will still be considered responsible for the disastrous policy in Iraq and for the economic effects of enacting an extreme liberal fiscal policy.

When the American people see what a disaster liberal democrat leadership is, it won't matter.

    4 years.

What sanity would that be? Infanticide to the tune of 1 to 2 million unborn babies a year plus now innumberable more that will be killed to "cure"?

Would that be the sanity that prevents constructionist jurists from being placed on the lower and Supreme courts?

You have a strange definition of "sanity".

The asylum was certainly well populated this time. The GOP deserved to lose and the Dems didn't deserve to win.

If insanity is doing the same things over and expecting a different result, this election certainly demonstrates it. Forty years of liberalism is largely what brought us to the mess we are in domestically and to some degree internationally.

    Please justify "disastrous".

First, it isn't finished. The easiest way for us to lose is to quit. Only an idiot believes that giving the enemy a victory in Iraq or anywhere else will make them less aggressive.

Second, in terms of casualties, Iraq has been very "light". I don't discount even one casualty but this operation doesn't compare to Vietnam, Korea, WW2, etc in loss of life. But the stakes are every bit as high if not higher. Bin Laden not only considers Iraq a part of the war, he considers it center stage. Liberals and folks like you don't seem to get the value of a victory in the enemy's backyard. Bin Laden and other Islamofascists do.
