Thanks, Poncho, for the links to the US code.

I just read this and am wondering that besides jails, whats the purpose of this information and to whom and upon what criteria does it apply?

    SOURCE

The word "defective" is a red flag to me...... remembering Hitler and his treatment of 'defectives'.

Indeed, the Census Bureau and its contracted help will all tell you your responses are protected by statute and any unauthorized disclosure is punishable by severe fines and prison time. What they don't tell you is that the number of authorized disclosures is expansive and corporations and individuals working with the Census Bureau have unfettered access to your personal information while under contract with the Bureau. You also wont find a list of individuals or organizations that have been prosecuted or sanctioned for disclosing your personal information, assuming such prosecutions have even taken place. After all, when the chief executive officer of the country can thumb his nose at the Constitution and federal statutes with impunity in order to spy on American citizens, it's no great leap of logic to realize that so-called census privacy protections are in reality non-existent.

A close look at several corporations working closely with the Census Bureau through lucrative contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars shows a strong connection to other government agencies including Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and various intelligence agencies. One such corporation, Lockheed Martin, has been a major contractor for National Census efforts in other countries including Canada and England. In the case of Canada, Lockheed's participation resulted in an uproar from the public that is still being heard today.

The malfeasance isn't limited to corporate involvement however. A GAO report titled, "The American Community Survey: Accuracy and Timeliness Issues" from 2002 verifies that the majority of questions on the survey don't even originate in the Census Bureau but rather from other special interests within the federal government:

"The questions to be asked in the 2003 ACS reflect justifications - specific statutes, regulations, and court cases - provided to the Bureau by federal agencies." - GAO Report, p2

"The 20 questions justified by mandatory programs reflect the provisions of seven statutes: One statute justifies 13 questions for providing information to the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC) to enforce the Federal Affirmative Action Plan. Another statute justifies 6 questions for providing information to the Department of Justice (DOJ) to enforce the Voting Rights Act. A Department of Commerce (DOC) statute justifies 1 question for providing information for legislative redistricting. The other statutes relate to programs of the Department of Agriculture (USDA), DOC, and HHS." - GAO Report, p16

What this means is that federal agencies are using the Census Bureau as their front for mandating responses to questions that individual agencies or departments aren't authorized to mandate from the general public on their own.

What's even more surprising is a GAO finding that contrary to assurances given, the Census Bureau fully intends to provide federal agencies with DIRECT access to ACS data while working with these agencies to develop more targeted and specialized follow-up surveys based upon responses to the American Community Survey:

Hope this answers your question windcatcher.

Salty Said . . . "If there is a web site, with all the questions that might be asked on the census, I would like to see it, and then I will let you know if I think any of the questions are too personal."

Here's a sample for ya Salty. Read it over and tell us which questions if any you find too personal. And if you'd mind sharing this personal info with Lockheed Martin and other such multinational corporations (and others) who have "unfettered access" to it.

The way I understand it, ACORN or it's derivatives, will be conducting the census. I refuse to answer their unconstitutional questions. I refuse to answer my door bell. However, should I choose to answer my door bell, I will do so, armed with a tape recorder and pleading the 5th Amendment as my standard response to any questions.

So answering census questions may incriminate you?

Good idea Lady Eagle. Perhaps it is a good time for a little rebellion.

How about this? Print up some cards with this information on it and hand it to the folks knocking on your door, just before you close the door in their face.

Wouldn't hurt to have the 4th, 9th and 10th amendments printed on the reverse side either.

I don't think pleading the 5th will work in this situation. One does not have incriminate himself or herself. If compelled to do so, in a court of law, he or she can plead the 5th. Refusing to answer census questions doesn't fall under this constitutional protection. Of course, I could be wrong. After all it's been over twenty years since I took government in college.

If the information you provide on your finances in the unconstitutional ACS doesn't match the information you provided on your unconstitutional income tax return doesn't match yeah probably.

You don't really think the ACS people (large corporations) are going to with hold any of your "private confidential" information from the IRS do you?

Actually, I wasn't thinking about a court of law, I was thinking about some people who testified before Congress recently who pleaded the 5th. I think the 5th is appropriate....not for IRS reasons, but just because of the invasion in my privacy. It's none of Acorn's or anybody else's business if I drive to work, how far, etc., and some of the questions they are supposedly going to be asking. Besides that, the information that is supposed to be on the 2010 census was prior approved by the old Congress before this new bunch and new POTUS took over and before the new POTUS moved it into another department than what it has always been in. (can't remember the name right now, I'm tired)

This Obama 2010 Census is a whole new realm of invasion into my privacy and I refuse to cooperate. I will not be intimidated by the evil Obama bunch.

And if anyone here (or some Obama spy lurking around on this board) thinks for a minute that I would cave and talk is cheap, you just don't know me....lol. I can be like a junk yard dog when it comes to principles. :)

PS: Are any of you planning to reveal to the Obama bunch (aka 2010 Census) whether or not you have firearms in your house/possession? Ya know if your firearms are registered, the big corp (Acorn, et al) will be tracking and comparing notes with ATF and the other authorities. Something you might want to ponder....

Where in the Constitution are you afforded a "right to privacy"? Of course, Roe v. Wade is built on the premise that was invented for the decision, but unless you believe the the Constitution provides a right to privacy (essentially providing the rationale for abortion rights), you don't have a leg to stand on in that regard.

And then I seem to remember something Jesus said about rendering to Caesar what is Caesar's and Paul expanding on that and teaching Christians to submit to authority.

He said that to the Jews, who were already under Roman control. We don't have any biblical command to let an out-of-control government run us over. Also, the information they are asking for isn't theirs.

The constitution spells out what the census is to ask.

Go ahead and give them the times of the day you drive to work and your private information, see if I care. I won't. Do what you feel led to do, based upon your own interpretation of the Scripture. Caesar in this case has bypassed the Constitution which is supreme over him.

Your abortion premise is a straw man argument in a discussion about the Census.

The questions the Obama bully/tyrant bunch are planning to ask on the census were not approved by congress and were not submitted to congress for approval by the time required by law. The Obama bunch is not abiding or conducting business according to the law of the land.

    Bingo.

Besides...why on earth would all these other questions be asked, except to be misused by government?

The Constitution is on our side with this one. Not that the Constitution matters anymore.

Now look at all the personal stuff Obama bullies want to pry into:

And what is posted may not even be the final draft - there may be MORE information they want from us !!

They know that illegal aliens are not going to answer these questions (especially when some of them live 12-14 in a one-bedroom apartment). They know they aren't going to get all of this information. This is just an attempt to rein in the honest tax paying citizen for some diabolical purpose. And I don't choose to be a participant of their evil, unconstitutional schemes. None of these personal questions are any of Bully Obama's beeswax.

What's wrong with giving this information? Does it violate Scripture?

Christians should submit to rightful authority. In this case, congress, the ACS people and the corporations (fascism = merging governmental power and corporate power) have overstepped their rightful authority and are acting outside the law (constitution) that governs them.

That makes them outlaws not authorities.
