Cherry picking the Bible.

    I should probably say that most of the Baptist churches I know of in my area (No VA) are liberal or lean liberal.

    And there are those who do the opposite, especially the first three.

    And there are those who do not do these things and make no false dichotomies between them.

    Liberalism, Modernism, denial of the plenary, verbal inspiration of scripture and the deity of the Lord Jesus. Nothing to do with political liberalism.

    The article is about giving certain parts of the Bible priority of emphasis over other parts. I have seen many examples of this over the years. It is a common practice. It is usually rationalized using one of the excuses mentioned in the article. Although I don't make a direct admission of "cherry-picking" scripture, I will admit that there are portions of scripture that I enjoy reading more than others.
