Know of any pictures of our Saviour in the Old Testament ? Describe the episode, and how it reminds you of Jesus. I'll start.

The Abraham & Isaac episode, where the ram was caught in the thickets.

God provided an innocent substitute to die our sinful death.

Two bears came out of the woods and attacked the children who mocked Elisha's bald head.

The blood of the lamb on the portals of Israelites doors in Egypt.

Christ's blood will cover those who claim it and the wages of sin, death, will not be imputed to them.

Genesis 4 Abel's blood crying from the ground reminds me of Christ's blood crying from the cross. Christ's blood spoke of better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 12:24.

I am so glad that on that rugged cross His blood spoke my name!

God killed an animal and covered Adam & Eve.

Christ's death means our sins are covered.

the raisng of the Brass Serpent to save the Israelites who had suffered from the sting of the snake.

Numbers 21:9 (KJV) - And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived

John 3:14 (KJV) - And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

We just began a study through Joshua last week, so it will be interesting to see all the types in that book.

Zechariah 13:7-9. "Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!" declares the Lord Almighty.
"Strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones."

V.9 The third I will bring into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them. I will sayt 'they are my people," and they will say "The Lord is our God."

God awakens the sword to strike the shepherd (His Son) the (Heb.)"nearest of kin."

The sheep (Jews) were scattered in AD 70 by Titus.
    Many were slain.

V.9, I believe, refers to the eventual salvation of the Jews.

The Ark. Get on or get dead. And it survived the most turbulent storms in the history of the world.

Jesus can take us safely through anything.

Genesis 28:10, Jacob's Ladder vision. The ladder reached to heaven. John 1:51 tells us that Jesus is Jacob's ladder--the Way to heaven.

Isaiah 1 reminds Israel that God isn't pleased with their sacrifices and religious feasts but instead seeks social justice of caring for the poor, oppressed and orphaned.

It reminds me of Matthew 25 where Jesus says caring for the poor, imprisoned and naked is doing it to Him.
