Christians and the Pledge of Allegiance

    But is there a mandate? Suggested, yes. Should statutes suggest the Pledge be said by children? I think that for the same reason you and your children pledge allegiance, it is a good idea for state governments to suggest it.

If I swear allegiance to my country and they decide to send me to war to fight a nation like Israel would I be right to deny my pledge of allegiance to them? </font>[/QUOTE]Although, I admit this hypothetical is highly improbable, if Israel had been the nation to attack America and harbour terrorists who planned and executed that attack, would it be wrong for you to fight for your country against Israel? I say no. What say you and why or why not?

    No, IF I were one who made a pledge, in other words an oath, then I am committed to it.

    IF Isreal were to attack the US than we would need to take action.

    I did not answer because that was not the topic of this thread. I threw in a hypothetical situation as an example of where some Christians might find themselves in a dilemma by making a promise they could not keep.
