Am I the only one who finds it odd that nobody is talking about the Christian presence at this year's Americana Music Awards?

I mean, Buddy Miller won for album of the year. The late Mark Heard won for song of the year. Marty Stuart won the lifetime achievement award.
Sonny Landreth won instrumentalist of the year and Jerry Douglas was nominated in that same category.

The ceremonies featured performances by the Millers, Stuart, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Al Green and Solomon Burke.

I've said this before, but it bears repeating. There seems to be a disproportionately large number of Christians in the alt.country and Americana fields.

That's such a great alternative to the garbage you see on the commercial awards shows.

It's a shame these artists aren't recognized. Is there any bad Buddy Miller records ? Nope. Is Jerry Douglas one of the best musicians that ever lived ? Yup.

Buddy Miller is fantastic. When he's not fantastic, he's still one of the most interesting artists out there.

It's hard to find somebody who's mistakes are still better than most artists' "A" game.
