What do you think of them ?

Me, myself, I wish pro-choice christians would shut up about one or the other.

    I hate their excuses.

If we spent as much time as Christians on stopping, slowing, or taking abortion back to the states as we do worrying about adultry, drinking, and the non sins of dancing and gambling, lots more lives would have been preserved. If we as humans just have to rank sins, how is it that more threads appear on nonsense like dancing and gambling than the taking of a human life? How much time and effort has been expended on issues like KJVO, Calvinism, closed communion, Landmarkism, Baptist Bride, and other myths.

A very good point was brought up in another thread about a woman who got pregnant before marriage, and was fired by some church group. If she had gone and gotten an abortion, and gone back to work, everything would have been "alright."

We execute people for murder or send them to prison for long periods of time. There is usually a purpose behing the murder, ie greed, anger between spouses, family, or friends, jealousy, etc, etc, etc. Yet, with abortion, there is no penalty, not only no penalty, but protection under US law, and the murder served no purpose, other than to get rid of something like yesterday's trash.

This is the bottom of the evil scale for mankind. I think the term pro-choice Christian does not exist. Even outside Scripture, our country is founded on "life, liberty, ............."

A pro choice Christian, a Christian who votes for pro abortionists, interesting concepts, but so are the shows on the SyFy channel.

The bible clearly stated "Thou shalt not murder." Sure, it does allow us to defend ourselves when attacked or declared war upon, and to hunt/fish/raise animals for food, but no where does it give the followers, Old and New testament alike, permission to murder, even the unborn. The commandant, "Thou shalt not murder" Sums up the situation perfectly and simply, it is us humans who want and tend to make it seem so difficult and complicated.

Billwald, if your wife or daughter were to come home and tell you that she is expecting but going to have an abortion...

Would you make one of your insipid toll remarks and then go make yourself a sandwich?

Or would it make you sad?

I mean there is a real person with a soul behind all of your troll posts - isn't there?

    "What ifs" don't count.

Look it on the side of the aborted person. He goes right from conception to glory in Heaven - if he is one of the elect, that is. And if he is not elect then his punishment in Hell will be very light, right? Not much time to sin when you go from conception right to Hell.

So then the next time that one of your daughters or grand daughters or nieces tells you that she is expecting you should encourage her to have an abortion just as soon as possible and then get pregant again just as soon as possible and do it all over again so that she can add to the glory of the Kingdom by sending as many souls to Heaven as possible.

Has that been your attitude as you have lived your life?

Wait a minute you had kids!!!

Why did you fail in your Christian duty to send them to Heaven?

Sounds like a RC question. Humans don't send humans to Heaven.

Nice dodge. You are so very clever.

    Now please answer the question.

Given your beliefs about abortion do you encourage your daughters, grand daughters and nieces to have as many abortions as possible?

    If not, why not.

But of course you won't answer because you are too busy in your role as Baptist Board jester.

Is that your pointy hat that I hear jingling?

The Bible does say "Thou shalt not kill" but not everyone in the USA is Christian. Abortion is one of those things that I believe is best left on a personal level. If you disagree with abortion, then don't have one. But don't force your beliefs on someone who disagrees with you.

This is why I am pro-choice. It's not my place to make decisions about someone else's body. I am a Christian and will live my life for Christ, but forcing my beliefs on another person is wrong. I'd prefer for them to come to Christ by seeing how I live my life, rather than by force. Abortion is a personal decision, and should only be made by the woman in that position. It's her choice and I can't make a choice for her.

Should we then let all murder go on a personal level? So you see the murder of unborn children different that murdering someone who is walking down the street? Why should we not work to protect the unborn children?

What about so=called "Christians" that claim to be against abortion but vote for and promote left wing progressive liberals that they know support abortion?

    Does that even make sense?

    "Christian Liberal" is an oxymoron.

It makes no sense to me that any Christian would promote any candidate who is pro abortion or pro gay rights, regardless of the label, but that seems to be a minority view on this board.

And yet you think that it makes sense to promote a candidate who endorsed a candidate who is a pro abortion and pro gay rights Mormon cult member?

Now that is a minority view!

Well, we all make mistakes, except you of course. Several votes I wish I could take back were the ones for Nixon. Some of the comments he made on the secret tapes are the most outrageous remarks I ever heard. About two weeks ago, I listened to a tape on his library web site, (my wife and I have visited this and quite a few other Presidential libraries), and he said, to paraphrase on the subject of abortion, that he was generally against it unless the baby in question was from a mixed marriage, such as black and white. Not much surprises me at my age, but that one did.

I still have a picture of me shaking his hand in 1973, and thinking about getting rid of it.

So what mistake did you make?

    Pushing so hard for Santorum?

Or berating everyone on the board that didn't share your hyper negative opinion of Romney?

Accusing others of selling their soul by voting for Romney when the election is still months away?

For questioning the morals of others who speculated that they would vote for Romney while at the same time lauding Santorum who endorsed Romney?

    a

I think there are a lot of issues, abortion being one of them. Let's not forget, the only thing that a reversal of R v W would do is to return the issue to the states.

Notice what is missing from this idea of "choice"--the life of the unborn child.

If, indeed, the unborn child is a live human, the issue is about "personal choice" just as much as other forms of murder are about "personal choice." If abortion is indeed the murder of a human life, then it should be prosecuted just as murder is.

Should someone who is inconvenienced by a two-year-old child have the legal right to dispose of his or her life? If not, the same thing must apply to all life. Period. No amount of arguments of "convenience" trump LIFE.
