Glad you finally figured that out, but it is only your wedding day personally and to those affected that day, everyone else knows it is now the anniversary of that day and having the same meaning of what took place. Christmas is all about what took place in that season not just the one event of Christ's birth, but also the other characters involved surrounding his birth.

    "I am stunned," indeed!
I can only conclude that Harold is no longer KJVO.
He has forsaken the KJV in favor for H. Garvey's paraphrase of the Bible.

Harold, I think you're getting delusional.

My wedding day was June 15, 1985. It was not my anniversary. The following year was my anniversary but I can never say that June 15, 1985 was my anniversary because it wasn't. An anniversary is a day celebrating a special occasion such as a wedding. June 15, 1985 will NEVER be my anniversary but June 15, 1986, June 15, 1987, June 15, 1988 and so on was never be my wedding day but was my anniversary.

You are asking someone to change the Bible to make the wedding day an anniversary. You cannot have an anniversary without the original day happening. Christmas is a celebration of Christ's birth and all it entailed. Christmas is not Christ's birth but the celebration and remembrance of such.

If you do not understand that, then we have nothing more to ever talk about. I seriously do not understand your mind since it is not thinking like a normal person, IMO. As you see people are stunned by what you have posted. That doesn't happen often here on BB. That certainly will tell you something.

Making snap judgements so often as you have is a clear indication somebody's mind has snapped

What? Her anniversary has no grandeur. The wedding does.

There is wisdom in the counsel of many. Read what others are telling you. You are actually advocating a change in the Word of God which is in effect a departure from the Word of God, and a departure from every other translation that I know of. Like I challenged you before, where is the word "Christmas" found in the Greek, from whence our English New Testament comes from.
We already know that Easter is a bad translation found only once in the KJV, and rarely in other translations. The English comes from the Greek. There was no such word as Christmas in the Greek, nor was there any such word until centuries after the NT canon was completed. Adding "Christmas" to the Bible is the equivalent as adding computers, cell phones, i-pods, laptops, VCR's, etc. Why don't we try and add those into our Bible as well. The obvious reason is:
    1. They are not in the Bible.
    2. They did not exist in the first century at the time of the writing of the Bible.

Both of the above reasons apply to the word "Christmas."

Good heavens, Harold. You have no clue do you? It's easier to explain things to my 7 year old because she GETS it.

Let's see if I can put this in even simpler terms:

The Bombing of Pearl Harbor = December 7, 1941
Pearl Harbor Day = every December 7th since then in remembrance of the day

    My wedding day = June 15, 1985
My anniversary = every June 15th since then in remembrance of the day

Christ's birth = whatever day that was about 2000 years ago that the Messiah was birthed from Mary's womb
Christmas = the remembrance of that day after that - starting whenever Christmas was instituted

A remembrance is not a remembrance if it is the actual event. You can't have a "remembrance" if it is still occurring.

In remembrance of me, eat this bread.

In remembrance of me, drink this wine.

In remembrance of me, pray for the time when God's own will is done.

BTW - The "grandeur" is still here 24 1/2 years later. As a matter of fact, more so now that we've got some mileage under our belts and our relationship is more grand now than it could have ever been then when we were just kids.

I am stunned. How can these authors be so totally clueless about the word Christmas?
Hello? It's the remembrance only, not the actual events. Duh!
Their thinking is just not normal and they need to study the dictionary more.

Well, it's a common misuse of the term today. If we go by the definition in modern and old dictionaries, it's a remembrance.

I'm having lunch with Anne Graham Lotz next Sunday. I'll let you know her answer to this if you'd like. :)

ETA - While it's a common misuse, are we to go change God's Word for a misuse? We also say that the wise men who came to see the child were 3 of them who came to the stable. Should we change Scripture?

Oh, so you say Christ's birth is only a historical event and equate it with your wedding date and the bombing of Pearl Harbour? And all this time I thought it all had to do with the Messiah!
