In this thread we will show scriptures that teach Salvation by the effects and merits of Christ's Death alone, in and of itself.

Many false teachers and christians teach that Christ's Death in and of itself saved no one ! That is the most Blasphemous Statement a person can make, and frankly , such a one has no business even claiming to be a Believer in Christ !

The first scripture that teaches un equivocally that Christ's Death alone, that it is the sole meritorious cause of one becoming saved is here:

    Rom 5:19b

19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Now Paul teaches here in this verse and within the given context, that by the obedience of one, that one being Christ, the Last Adam, and the obedience being His, the obedience unto death Phil 2:8

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

And as a sure result, a sure effect The Many, He gives His Life for as Per Matt 20:28

28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

    Heb 9:28

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

    Isa 53:12

12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

That all of that exact many, as a direct result of His Death or His Obedience, shall be made Righteous, that is shall be saved ! For to be made Righteous and to be Saved are the same thing here. In fact, the antithesis in the same verse, being made sinners, was being made lost, and that, by the effect of one man.

Now who is it that shall shine in the Kingdom of Glory but the Righteous, the made Righteous Matt 13:43

43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Now this one scripture Rom 5:19b proves all who deny that Christ's Death in and of itself Saves those He died for, proves all of them to be LIARS !

    1 Pet 2:24

    1 Pet 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Now Peter here writing to believers, the Elect of God, who have been by the Spirit brought to obedience of Faith 1 Pet 1:2

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Now Peter writes and states that they, those whom he was writing unto, that it was by Christ's Stripes [Meaning His Death ] they were healed !

The word healed here is the greek word iaomai and means:

    to cure, heal

    2) to make whole

    a) to free from errors and sins, to bring about (one's) salvation

There you have it, straight from the inspired writer, that it was by His Stripes, His Death, His Obedience Rom 5:19b; Phil 2:8 that brought about or effected their Salvation or their living unto Righteousness !

Thats what being healed by His stripes effected, it effected their Livng unto Righteousness !

We shall be saved by His Life !

    Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

To be saved by His Life is the same as being saved by His Death, because Life comes from His Death. For He was that corn of wheat that fell into the ground and died, so that fruit or life would come out of Death Jn 12:24

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Fruit here means life, offspring, progeny, and even converts

    anything produced or accruing; product, result, or effect;

Jn 4:36 speaks of converts as being fruit ! Also Rom 1:13

13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

    Phil 1:22

22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

Well, Spiritual living Converts is the fruit of Christ's Death which was His Labor as indicated

    Isa 53:11

11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

That word travail is translated labor 25 times Ecclesiastes 2:10 !

Now, as a Result of His Meritorious Death before the law and Justice of God in the stead of all those He died for, namely the Church of God, the Second or Last Adam was made a quickening Spirit 1 Cor 15:45, to quicken or give life to the Church of God which died in Adam the First !

45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

The word quickening here is the greek word zōopoieō and means:

to produce alive, begat or bear living young

    2) to cause to live, make alive, give life

    a) by spiritual power to arouse and invigorate

    b) to restore to life

    c) to give increase of life: thus of physical life

    d) of the spirit, quickening as respects the spirit, endued with new and greater powers of life

    3) metaph., of seeds quickened into life, i.e. germinating, springing up, growing

As the First Adam was made a Living Soul, the Last Adam upon His Resurrection was made a Life giving Spirit unto all for whom He Represented, which were all that had been Reconciled by His Death, and now, being reconciled, they shall be in addition and consequence saved by His Life, that is they will be caused to live Spiritually with New Spiritual Life ! This is the Fruit of His Saving Death Jn 12:24

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

This is a indictment against all the false teachers and their followers that testify that Christ's Death in and of itself does not Save and or is Worthless !

We shall be saved by His Life ! Pt 2

    Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Now who are the we here that unquestionably shall be saved by His Life ? Paul here is speaking in behalf of all whom had been reconciled to God by His Christ's Death !

They all shall be also Saved by His Life. That is through Resurrection, His Resurrection is His and their Life ! Jn 11:25

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Now understand, through Resurrection, Christ, the last Adam becomes a Life giving Spirit, which is why #1 all those whom were legally reconciled to God by His Death, even while they were being enemies, dead in sin, yet still being reconciled, they shall be saved [made alive converted] by His Life !

That life they shall be saved by is that why by His Resurrection He was constituted or made a Life Giving Spirit; and #2 That is what peter means when He writes to believers in 1 Pet 1:3 that they were begotten again to a lively hope BY the Resurrection of Christ from the dead, for that also looks to Christ as the Last Adam, by His Resurrection, He is a Life Giving Spirit, which results in them being born again !

Let me show you how this is True from scripture. The Last Adam is a Life giving Spirit. The word for quickening in 1 Cor 15:45

    zōopoieō means:

to produce alive, begat or bear living young

    2) to cause to live, make alive, give life

    a) by spiritual power to arouse and invigorate

    b) to restore to life

    c) to give increase of life: thus of physical life

    d) of the spirit, quickening as respects the spirit, endued with new and greater powers of life

The main Ideal here is that He gives a New Life, a Spiritual Life !

Now lets look at 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Peter says that we were begotten again, How ? BY THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST FROM THE DEAD !!

Now, being begotten again is the greek word anagennaō and means:

to produce again, be born again, born anew

    2) metaph. to have one's mind changed so that he lives a new life and one conformed to the will of God

The New Birth comes as a Result of Christ[Last Adam] by His Resurrection being made a Life Giving Spirit, and that New Birth is the Life given from Christ's Life, meaning, the promise of shall be saved by His Life Rom 5:10b comes to past for each person that had been reconciled to God by His Death !

You see, His Death, which did legally reconcile them to God, did mark them out as to ones that should be saved by His Life, so that Christ's Death ensured that all for whom He died and reconciled to God while they were still unbelievers and enemies, that they shall be saved, made alive Spiritually with New Life, by His Resurrection from the Dead !

Now, if any for whom Christ died, and reconciled to God by His Death even while they were enemies, are not in their lifetime ,made alive by His Life,as He is the Risen Last Adam, then scripture testimony has lied, which means God has lied.

And all you who say that everyone for whom Christ died shall not be saved by His Life, you are all liars and you call God a Liar ! The same is true of all who say that Christ's Death alone, in and of itself does not save anyone or that it being alone is worthless, you also are liars !

    Heb 9:14

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Another verse that teaches that the Blood of Christ or the Death of Christ, both the same, alone does save those He died for. For here the inspired writer makes a certain assertion regarding the Blood of Christ in lieu of that of the blood of animals, that it [Christ's Blood it's Meritorious Effects] purges, purifies, cleanses our conscience from dead works [ false dead religion] to [unto] serve[worship] the Living God !

The word serve is the same word for worship here Phil 3:3

3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Thats experimental Salvation ! To end up serving, worshiping the True God as a result of the Blood of Christ ! Now to deny this Truth is nothing short of Antichrist, being against the saving efficacy and accomplishment of Christ's Saving Death or Blood !

Some may argue, well does not one need Faith to serve God ? Heb 11:6, and my reply to that would be absolutely Yes !, for no one can serve God without a living faith, however that living Faith is the product of the Blood of Christ. Since the purification or the purging of the conscience from dead works to serve the Living God is attributed to THE BLOOD OF CHRIST. We do not deny Faith its proper place in conversion, but we do emphasize its [Faith] meritorious cause, the Blood of Christ !

The word purge in Heb 9:14 is the greek word katharizō and it does mean to purify, and is used that way here Acts 15:9

9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

So Faith that God purifies the heart with or conscience is the effect of the Blood of Christ or His Death !

This is a strong indictment against false teachers who teach that Christ's Death in and of itself does not save anyone or that its worthless !

    Heb 2:9

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

The false prophets of our day have twisted this scripture and teach lies by it, they say this verse means that Christ died for everyman without exception by this verse !

However this verse does not say that at ail, nor does it mean that, and this is why.

This verse actually teaches that every man or son that Christ tasted death in the behalf shall be saved and glorified, for Vs 10 indicates that as well as informs us as to who the every man defines in Vs 9

    Vs 10 Reads Heb 2:9-10

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation or saving perfect through sufferings.

The word is translated saving here Heb 11:7

7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Now understand this, Christ Death is a Saving Death, through it He becomes the Captain or Author of their Salvation or Saving !

Now lets see how Christ's Death is saving from other scripture ! Heb 2:9

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Now, The Death of Christ reconciles to God all for whom Christ died Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death or tasting of Death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

And the scripture here ensures us that those reconciled to God by His Death, the promise is they SHALL BE SAVED BY HIS LIFE !

That guarantees that everyone Christ Tasted death for shall be saved from their sins !

So this verse Heb 2:9 actually teaches Limited Atonement, unless one embraces universal salvation for every singel individual which is another lie !

    Heb 10:14 Perfected !

What the death of Christ accomplished of its own merit for all those that He offered Himself in behalf of Heb 10:14

14 For by one offering[His Death] he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Knowing this Truth is very important especially in light of the modern day of blasphemy of many false teachers who tell us #1 That Christ's death or offering in and of itself saves no one, which is blasphemy 1 Pet 2:24 and those who say Christ's death in and of itself, without the work of the Spirit is worthless, another blasphemy !

We must however embrace what the scripture says about what Christ's death or offering did accomplish for those Christ died for in and of itself: And here in this context of Heb 10, we are told that it [His Death or offering] perfected forever those whom are sanctified, or as the greek may indicate, those who are in a state of sanctification !

Anyone Christ died for, by virtue of His Death, even though sinners by nature as others, are nevertheless born in this world already sanctified or set apart for the holy purposes of God, this is also True because of what it states a few verses ahead in the context in Heb 10:10

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Here we are enlighten that it was also the death or offering of Christ that did sanctify those He died for once and for all, that was legal sanctification, which will in God's Time manifest itself into subjective sanctification, because all whom are legally sanctified by the blood of Christ or His Death, must also be given life by the Spirit, which is also Sanctification of the Spirit 2 Thess 2:13

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

All of which is the fruit of Christ's death that perfected all for whom He died, so the follow up work of the Spirit is an evidence of the Great Worth and accomplishment of Christ's Death!

Also in the legal aspect alone of this perfection of Heb 10:14 is meant, that all for whom Christ died are made complete in Him, not in themselves Col 2:10

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Also it meant that not one sin of theirs has God not been propitiated for forever ! They are freed from sin forever by Christ's offering ! Rom 6:7

For he that is dead [died in Union with Christ] is freed from sin. Note: Christ could not have died for our sins if we were not in Union legally with Him !

This is a legal term, the word freed here is the greek word dikaioō:

to render righteous or such he ought to be

    2) to show, exhibit, evince, one to be righteous, such as he is and wishes himself to be considered

    3) to declare, pronounce, one to be just, righteous, or such as he ought to be

This offering was not for all in the World without exception, but is qualified to only those who are set apart or sanctified legally and then experimentally, and this perfect is True of all of God's Elect before its fruition or realization by the one perfected by Christ death, meaning, if Christ was to tarry another 25 years, and Elect are born physically into this world within those years as sinners and enemies by nature, they have been still legally perfected forever by Christ's death or Offering, and they are assured of being sanctified experimentally by the Spirit 2 Thess 2:13, solely because of Christ's Death alone perfecting them before God's law and Justice !
