I'm not for police checks for membership, but I do agree with criminal checks for youth workers...

Also, it won't be too long before all churches will be required to do background checks on youth workers...
Some insurance companies are demanding it... and others are following suit...

AlexL: All the postings on this site are remarkable. The posters are witnessing to you many events that they too(was or were) involved in that sometimes folks stumble others in their FAITH with Jesus as well as the Salvation plans for yourself or others. I read your first posting and asked the Spirit to lead me in my reply to you. IT jumped out at me! You asked, if I understand, was their scripture based on this issue. YEP! I found it. Ready?
First, I am Irish desent, as well as we question a lot of things--no trust I recon- from the British treatment to us. So, Interesting, the same thing happens in scripture. Let us review events: since this is Easter season--that the tomb is now empty--Peter RUNS! Later, Peter is involved in the penticostal event in the upper room. Peter is Jewish and stays around Isarel - making churches--he does not go! under Jesus commission. Now we got a basis about this person--remember NO gentiles in his church. Let us read scripture at II Peter Chapter 14 thru 16. Peter is speaking to his church members about holding faith in Jesus, verse 15 Saying about Salvation to them--EVEN PAUL!! Wow, Now see a gentile is now acceptable and also Peter witness Stephen stoned to death by who? Paul. There is still a label on Paul as well as in verse 16 about Paul's epistles. What is Peter saying in verse 16? Do be well educated then to be of the ignorant folks of Paul's follower's. Why? they could not read and write nor knew Hebrew as the Jewish in Peters church. Which may by listening to these heathen learned folks of Pauls may be a destruction to this assembly of Jews. Remember: these Jews knew the old testament and stuff that was written to the Jews over 1000 years ago before the Cross of Jesus.
Now let us look at Pauls group a people! Look in your bible and see how God annointed Paul as well as that a lot of the New testament was written by Paul. Remember Paul was a Roman soilder who killed Christians, mostly Jews. Knocked off a horse and God whammeyed Paul as well as making Paul a missionary with no training. Paul had to dig into the Jewish scriptures and learn quickly. So, turn to I Thess. 2:13. Paul tells the ignorant folks who do not know how to read and write this message---They HEAR--"ye heard of us, ye recieved it, and it is the truth of the word of God as well as ye BELIEVE! WOW! what do we have here? Why it is new believers in the Cross of Jesus and they have a new hope and salvation to the Kingdom of God. These were Heathens and now Christians and joint heirs with Jesus just as much as the Jews.WOW! But what have you learned about this on this post---It is all are in UNITY. Read in scripture, did Paul ever put down Peter in his ways of being a pastor of his church? No. God wants to keep all of us--we just need to keep the faith. amen. Bye
