Information that details what goes on behind the scenes at the Church of Scientology:

http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Fishman/time-behar.html This famous 1991 Time Magazine article critical of Scientology reveals how the "Church" is the equivalent of the mafia disguised as a religion. Oppose them and you are fair game for harassment and maybe even a frivolous lawsuit.

http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Secrets/index.html Things they don't want you to know.

http://www.xenu-city.net/ How they occupy downtown Clearwater, and monitor the area with over 100 different video cameras.

http://dir.yahoo.com/Society_and_Culture/religion_and_spirituality/faiths_and_practices/scientology/opposing_views/ - a large list of Internet sites opposed to the cult.

All Christians should be aware that the CoS operates many front groups, including some that supposedly are for literacy or helping children in schools. This site goes into the ones to do with education (they also operate Narconon, a drug rehab program that is in some prisons):

This will help spread the news about them:

    1. Go to http://www.yahoo.com/
    2. search for: Church of Scientology
    3. Without clicking on any of the links, scroll down to the bottom and click results page #3.
    4. click result number #50 which is the Time Magazine article about them. It looks like this "Scientology: The Thriving Cult of Greed and Power". If we can get enough people to do this. We can eventually get it up to the #1 spot when people search for information about them.

Also note that as it moves up it will not always be #50. Just make sure that "Scientology: The Thriving Cult of Greed and Power" is the VERY FIRST RESULT you select after you run the search.

Near here the Church of Scientology are sponsoring the clean up of graffiti on a continual basis on a local railway station. There members come along and paint it out. In doing so they seem to have been permitted to paint advertising on the railway station.

I have had one of there tests done where you grip a device and they test your stress level, Yet what I found was that the needle moves when your forehead muscle flexes in any way, All people do this when they think carefully about something, and naturally that is the nature of the questions that you are asked, What I then did was to take the test ensuring that I kept all the muscles in my face motionless, Yet it was to no avial, they still tried to get me to take their Dianetics book.

Here's a recent link to and excerpt of an article on Narconon, a front group for the CoS:

L.A. schools look hard at Narconon
    http://www.religionnewsblog.com/7629-.html
School district officials in Los Angeles have ordered a review of an anti-drug program whose teachings are linked with the Church of Scientology and are warning teachers that its instruction "is not based on science." Los Angeles is the second district in the state to scrutinize Narconon Drug Prevention and Education, which reaches thousands of students in at least 20 California districts and has provided lectures in schools across the country for two decades. Earlier this month, San Francisco schools Superintendent Arlene Ackerman gave Narconon until this Thursday to revise its curriculum or be barred from the district after The Chronicle reported that religious concepts embraced by the Church of Scientology have found their way into its classroom lectures. Also, state schools chief Jack O'Connell ordered the state Department of Education last week to investigate Narconon.
