Cinco De Mayo - Why is it celebrated here?

    First, they ceded the territory to get rid of the American Army occupying Mexico City. Second the Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day thats in September. It celebrates the Nationalist victory at the Battle of Puebla (which was kinda like or victory at Saratoga during the AmRev).
    People look the day up on wikipedia.

    Because the illegal immigrants intend to claim the southwest as a part of Mexico. California might not be a bad idea, then they would have the liberal whakos in hollywood and Sodom-by-the-Sea.

    I had occasion to sorta drive through a cinco de mayo celebration the other night.

    I never saw so many sets of cowboy boots, starched jeans and shirts, and all sorts of western style hats, each with a case of beer under each arm. There was plenty of loud music with the laughter of men an women as an entertainer sang a song. In spainish , of course.

    Matter of fact, I don't think I heard a word of English being spoken.

    They were getting set for one heck of a party.

    I wonder if they celebrate July 4th as enthusiastically?????
